Gunning with a Gamepad?

Something I decided I wanted to try to start getting used to it is Gunning. However, using a Gamepad is a bit tricky with a Gamepad and I was wondering if there was a better setup I had or if there was anything that could really be of use from any gunners in general. I currently keep hitting about 6k with my highest with gunning only just above 10k.

I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE "USE A KEYBOARD/MOUSE BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY REAL WAY TO PLAY" AS AN ANSWER NOR A JOKE.

Currently my Setup is:

Left Stick: Strafing
Right Stick: Facing/Aiming
RT: Action/Attack
LT: Boosting

Along with:
Perfect Mask of Seerus
Chaos Cloak
Storm Driver
Hail Driver
Biohazard
Valiance

Anything that could slightly help would be fantastic.

My controls are the same as yours, using BKC+Chaos with Valiance/Storm/Sentenza. I think the hardest part is getting good aim. I can't aim with guns at all so I'm usually quite luck dependent with my bullets. My strategy is mostly that I switch shoot Valiance and Storm driver. If I get shock on them, I mow them down with Sentenza as invinciframes are removed. I'm hardly a good gamepad gunner so I don't have much to say, though. I think my average damage is slightly above yours and so is my max.

What gamepad do you use, anyway? I believe Zeddy said he had an easier time aiming with DualShock 3 and I've considered buying one myself as the bumps on the analogue sticks of the Xbox 360 gamepad kills my right thumb whenever I switch shoot. The reason is that I go X (weap. 1), stick, A (weap. 2), stick, X, stick, A, and so on. Those bumps hurt my thumb, simple as that. I can get a great shooting rhythm with barely any interruptions but that might just be the source of my problems.

I use an Xbox 360 Controller with a Wireless Receiver. I've tried using a Dualshock 3 Controller and I just cannot get the feel right with it, it's insanely odd for me.

I tried using a Sentenza for a set time but ended up just generally missing most shots and rarely used it.

I know aim is a problem though, without the arrow pointing in the direction I am aiming causes problems as I'm slightly off.

I've got left bumper assigned as the auto-target button. Really, until there is a crosshair implemented for gamepad users, that is the only reliable way to aim in a game with no crosshairs using slow-firing, semi-auto guns.

I'd like to give some advice, but I don't use a gamepad..
