SK is severely lacking in Status+Damage variety

Short and simple suggestion.
Make more Normal, Piercing, and Shadow weapons that inflict status.

The fact that I can pretty much count all the 5* weapons that aren't Elemental and cause statuses on two hands is beyond terrible.
This entire game seems to be built around using weapons that use Elemental damage. Nearly every Elemental type weapon has a status attached to it and the most prevalent enemies are weak to Elemental. There are even an absolutely absurd amount of Elemental weapons in comparison to the other damage types, status or not.
What's with the favoritism?

Why not make the less prevalent statuses (Curse, Poison, and Sleep whenever it gets back in the game) Shadow statuses? Shock, Fire, and Stun can remain stuck on the Elemental weps, but offer more variety!

I can't be the only one who's noticed this or is bothered by this. This game is terribad with balance and its equipment, but it shouldn't be bland and boring as well.

If we are to not consider haze bombs as they aren't offensive bombs, you'll find that there are no elemental weapons inflicting poison or stun. Fire, shock, and freeze are indeed dominated by elemental weapons. Curse is almost left out and Sleep is pretty dang gone.

We need more monsters dealing Curse, and weapons dealing poison. That way Angelic and Crusader would be used more.

We just need more diversity in terms of weapons and their damage. Period.
It's "great" that we have THREE different Brandishes and FOUR different Alchemers that essentially do the same Elemental thing in different colors, but then we have ONE Shadow Brandish and ONE Shadow Alchemer. It isn't any better with bombs since there's only one truly offensive Shadow bomb and that's locked behind the DLC.
They're treating Shadow damage, one of the three types of damage in their rock-paper-scissors configuration as a gimmick to Elemental. The situation isn't much better when it comes to Piercing and only slightly better with Normal weapons considering that it's the main damage type of bombs.

@Krakob
I know that Sleep's gone for now, but there have been hints that it might be making a comeback... maybe?

Still, it's just another mark against OOO in a growing list of faults that they've kept the Sleep resistances and such on armors and trinkets for more than TWO YEARS instead of adjusting things. It's just ridiculously shoddy workmanship.

If they made each brandish

If they made each brandish its own sword that only shared the three basic swings but had their own crafting lines from 2 to 5 and special charge attacks, I would get one, but currently they are all clones and I hate them with a passion. I'm cool with Alchemers because at least they are balanced-ish.
