So my friend owned this guy in Lockdown, then the guy got so mad he went ahead and went straight for the racial slurs. Like seriously, you just had to go there? I can't believe OOO condones this type of ill-behavior in their game and refuse to do anything about it.

(Removed the screenshots. If someone makes racist comments, please let us know using the in-game complaint function I described below, since racism is absolutely unacceptable but we can only take action if we know it's happening. Thanks! - H)

This brings to light a couple serious matters that really needs to be addressed in this seemingly-innocent game: aggression and discrimination. We're all aware that a game is simply that, just a game. But some individuals just cannot take a loss and would throw fits, even going as far as to break things just to vent. Then there's also some who intentionally insult someone based on his or her race, religion, creed, sexual preference, etc. We are all playing this game to have FUN, but unnecessary discriminatory insults just takes away that fun. Something seriously needs to be done here.

Youre obviously not old enough to understand that these "small pointless jabs" could (and in many cases had) turn into worse if left unchecked. Taking matters into one's own hands works in some scenarios, but definitely not this since the offender could potentially keep throwing discriminatory insults to other people which could ruin even more players' gaming experience. Unless you have nothing better to do with your own time, quit raging and commenting on threads without putting any mature thought (or any thought at all) into what you say. Thanks :)

I've removed the original screenshots in keeping with our "no-naming-and-shaming" forum policy.

Racist comments are definitely not acceptable in Spiral Knights. That said, as someone mentioned, we don't monitor everybody's conversations at all times; that would be both impractical and really creepy of us. If someone makes a racist comment (or violates the terms of service), please report it using the in-game complaint function so that we can take appropriate action. Thanks!

As a reminder, you can submit an in-game complaint by typing /complain Name. You can also click on the person, but I find the typing method easier because you don't have to go chasing after moving targets.

Racial slurs can happen anywhere, SK isn't exempt. The fact that you're lingering on this ONE particular insult is a bit concerning. The small potential jabs that turned worse can be avoided with the ignore feature, it's there for a reason. No one is raging on your thread, no one is being immature, your insults really aren't helping those who are trying to help you, so just move on :/

Racial-Slurs occur and should really not be taken lightly especially from someone who you don't know personally. I've been called a few things before from my Friends in such a manor but it's really just joking around and I've also been called pretty much everything in the dictionary that can be listed as "Offensive" from people I don't even know. I ignore them only because I'm a nice-guy and I'd prefer not to have my good-time ruined by them but I'd also feel bad for preventing them from playing if I ever reported them.

OOO has clearly stated that "Racial-Slurs" are not acceptable in any way or form.

So let's stop the fighting here and join together.

It feels like you just discovered the Internet and the gaming community. You will have to deal with this, as it happens every second here, often those who throw such insults don't even mean them and just do because they're in a momental state of rage and still early teenagers. While I agree it is stupid behaviour, you should not make it sound like it is a threatening serious matter, that is just beeing ridiculous...but heh, you can waste your time posting threads here and alert the admins everytime if you feel like it, just be aware it is a useless fight. I strongly suggest to stop beeing offended by everything, or just stop playing video games altogether. And by the way, the game does not support these behaviours, they just are not in the possibility to control everything that happens and it's better for everyone this way.

I tryed to be as civil as I could, but truth is, people like you are really starting to exasperate me, actually, your kind is worst than those people you're condemning.

Just because it's common in the gaming community doesn't mean everyone have to live with it. That is institutional tolerance at its best and the reason why people still think it's okay to throw racist slurs around. I'm glad OP thought it was an issue worthy of mentioning, but some of these comments are saddening. Please consider that people who have real life experiences different from you are allowed to feel offended even if you think they are being more sensitive than necessary. Hope OOO will deal with these kind of issues fairly.

If SK was real, you would be demoted if not exiled. Why do you think you chose your own body color? I chose mine because Blue is my favorite. I may not be a "God-like LD'r" like you but can at least go on a D0-29 run without dying. I've seen lots of other deep blue guys that might be better than me at some things. Please, don't take this as in argument, I just think stereotyping personal color color is the absolute most stupidest thing I have ever seen in my 2 years of playing.

Only kids throws insults... and grown up kids...

As an adult I prefer to have a challenging conversation as in "where are you hiding you little fuckhead?" and you hear "HEADSHOT!" then dies, it's hilarious ^ ^

As for this game, do not take anyone seriously, they are mostly try-hards and most of the good people are humble and kind :D

@OP: Afraid you can't stop people from being racist on the internet. Of course, to be racist on the internet where you can't even see someone's skin color is a sign of one not using their brain. Ragers tend to do this. (Trust me, I know. I've set up mini-sentries in front of spawn rooms before, which, for all who don't know TF2, is annoying to people in TF2.)

When you get insulted for beating someone in an online game, don't be mad, be glad! You kicked his [REDACTED]!
