I think that they shouldn't allow battle sprites in lockdown and think a new PvP would be fun.
Maybe a game where you send your sprites out in a capture the flag thing or something.
Post some ideas if you have some :3

If Drakon buffs your attack, then here's a few words words:
Oh-God.-Pls-Don't-Make-Skolvers-ever-more-OP >_<
This wouldn't work, as only the Drakon attacks. The Wraith debuffs your opponents, and the Seraph buffs your team.
So it's right they shouldnt be allowed
Yes, that would totally blow up the complexity of this game, why should the Battle Sprites add more fun and strategy to PVP, if the developers can simply remove them to save work?
Okay, seriously now, there could be really some balance issues, but that's why the developers are humans and have a brain. And from a much bigger game which I play, there aren't companions allowed in PVP too. But since this game isn't a mainstream game, it would be really nice to see the Sprites in PVP! PVP modes like the classic "Capture the Flag" or "Tower Defense" or "Defend the Jelly" would be so nice... but okay, I'm probably dreaming too much now. It only makes me sad when I see everytime how much good potential is wasted.
An missing (ingame) level editor for players is still a huge disadvantage in this game, companys like Valve, Nadeo, Cryptic, etc have showed how much success their games have, JUST because they have a level editor and / or mod tools. The guild hall thing in this game shows off that it would be technically possible.
Thanks for reading.
I think that there should be 6 gyms requiring the Battle Sprite Trainer to collect badges at before going on to fight the Vanguard Four, followed by the Vanguard Champion. This shall be known as the "Battle Sprite League" and will, when completed, earn the knight the title of "Battle Sprite Master".
Yeah and then we can find sprites in the clockworks and then capture them in tiny spriteballs and use them as our slaves to fight other sprites for our own amusement!

How did we get here??? xD
Sprites = Skolvers + Drakon = More OP than before >_>
Lockdown would get [trucked] up
I actually want to let sprites in PvP with us because then we can experience a new gameplay that we never had because to tell the truth LD is very boring and having sprites in it will get players to create new strageys to defeat their opponents instead of old spam a nd run.
I'd say the Maskeraith would be more op in PvP than Drakon. Invisible Skolver Striker? Free poison to reduce damage? The near un-dodgeable Hex that deals Shadow Damage?
I think thay sprites should never come with all its stupid updates about changing crafting system and all that piece of poop. instead i think ooo should takr REAL suggestions about balancing the game.
ty good night :3
Am I the only one who noticed that battle sprites are already in LD?
Deals high damage, mostly offensive. What am I talking about? Strikers? Drakons? The answer is both.
Guards your allies, highly defensive. What am I ta- you get the idea. I hope.
Perhaps they'd fit into a new PvP game. I sure as Helheim would like a new one, preferably without presets. CTF or something would indeed be nice. The thing I'd like to see the most would be something that doesn't show you damage numbers and [scrap], one where cooperation is important.
Recon recons
Recon strikers
Recon Guardians
Guardian recons
Guardian strikers
Guardian guardians
BS in LD won't work.
I don't think they should be in LD, but a new game might work. You might could play 3 vs 3, each one controlling a starting battle sprite. This would allow one Drakon, one Maskeraith, and one Seraph. I don't know FULLY how it would work, but it's a thought.
i've always wanted to battle in the orange island gym league
maybe now's my chance
This just came to mind, thinking about my idea.
"Go! Triple Finish! It's Super Effective!"

xD xD xD xD
Lockdown is built from the ground up with the intent for classes to have unique special abilities that empower certain playing styles over others. Everything since release has been balanced and tweaked under this established rule; the amount of damage things do, the amount of health everyone has, the time it takes to reload/comeback/pick up and refire/swing/place weapons, and so forth. Adding outside "weapons" that go beyond the scope of the gamemode's original vision(Battle Sprites) into the classes active arsenals serves to only throw off the balance that has been precariously tweaked over the years. Suddenly players have much more firepower in their possession at any given time, but with nothing changed to compensate for the additional firepower. Even if things were changed in accordance with the additional firepower, it's still a ton of work to have to rebalance the entire game around the inclusion of secondary class-based abilities. This serves to overpower everyone. Now, you may be thinking that a game full of overpowered players is balanced--it's not;it just makes bad players die faster, and good players last a lot longer.
Simply put: it's not what the game was originally designed around, and professional developers like OOO should never resort to giving a cheap sense of short-lived "freshness" by destroying all the love and care that has made Lockdown endure with a gimmick clearly(from a balance standpoint) envisioned for PvE.
tl;dr BS are equivalent to lockdown armageddon
On topic: A new gamemode for Battle Sprites specifically would only work out if the Sprites were dropped to their lowest form for the match to preserve the wide range of competition that Spiral Knights' PvP is supposed to invite. There has to be something for everyone, and the fact that Battle Sprites can level up and change drastically would skew match results in favor to the team with the most hours clocked power leveling their Sprite. And even if you make it all balanced and such, there would have to be enough new content--other than having a different objective--to distinguish the new gamemode from Lockdown since the Battle Sprites themselves greatly resemble the Striker, Recon, and Guardian classes we already have. I can't foresee that being accomplished without adding new entities and rules to change up gameplay, and that's a lot of extra time the devs would need to put into a new PvP gamemode that people might not even play. Time they could be spending expanding the actual game instead.
tl;dr 2 much effort add t4 instead
Congratulations, you win stupidest idea of the day.
You're right that they shouldn't allow battle sprites in LD, though.
