Has the most effective way to use these weapons been established? And if so, what is it (Mainly talking about Vile Striker)?

don't know about "most"

I don't know about the "most" effective way. In general, I find these swords (DVS and WHB) to be the hardest swords to use, although they are fun.

The regular attacks are okay, and poison is generally an underrated status, but the range is really short.

The charge attack takes so long to complete, that it is very risky. Certainly you want to ensure that there are no extra monsters attacking you. The WHB charge at least interrupts the monster that you're attacking. The DVS charge doesn't even interrupt that monster until the end of the charge. So you have to time the DVS charge really carefully.

Eh... this ain't no Brandish or Divine Avenger, using Cutter as a main weapon is all about reacting to the situation accordingly with different attack patterns.

I like to shield-cancel the first hit for most enemies (because I don't use Auto Aim because my shift key is dying). For mid-size enemies keep shield-cancelling because your constant attacks will push them back.

Attack and hold > reposition/re-aim > repeat.
This is a pretty good attack pattern for fighting groups of enemies and large enemies and Greavers.

If you use Auto Aim, you can: hold attack > move up > release attack > hold attack > move up > release attack > attack
This helps with hitting your phantom blades rather than just doing the combo attack and missing hits of the combo.

You should find your own path, young cutter-er.
