I will first post the armor + stats, then I will give an explanation for why I am suggesting the Dauntless armor sets.

_____________________________________________
This is the base defense of all Dauntless armor / helms:
5*
Normal Defense - 1 bar and a half (fully heated, 2 bars and a half) -OR- No primary defenses of any sort, if this is possible to be implemented in this way.
No health bonus.
Negative Status (All except for Sleep) - 2 bars each negative.

Medium bonus to CTR
Medium bonus to another offensive stat other than damage that affects mobility / gameplay.

If this is confusing anyone - the objective put simply is "hardmode armor".

The missing health bonus and normal defense are equivalent to 0* items. The negative status is equivalent to Chaos items.

The reasoning for this armor is to give us control over the difficulty in this game. At the moment, we have to sacrifice our comfortable ASI / CTR levels in order to purposely make the game harder. There is no way to make status as deadly as Chaos armor without having a huge chunk of primary defenses (normal and elemental) as well as damage bonus sadly given by the Chaos armor. Damage bonus makes the game easier without changing the mechanics. The reason I want ASI and CTR on the armor is because that actually changes the mechanics of this game - so much to the point that 5* players have a hard time switching between their regular armor and 1* armor and adapting. It is for smooth gameplay in addition to difficult gameplay.

The reason this armor is 5* is so that it doesn't hinder PvP or affect PvP in any way. If this armor was 1* or 0*, the lack of strong status in T1 LD and double medium bonuses would make it too powerful. This armor needs to stay 5* for this reason.

A shield is unecessary, as Swiftstrike Buckler will suffice while also meeting our ASI goals.

And here are the different suffixes for Dauntless Armor

The visual of the armor would be either a Demo theme, Wolver theme, or Gunslinger theme depending on the corresponding set. Each set would look charred, torn, and broken. The Mail / Crown would be broken / charred valkyrie looking armor.

In order to craft this armor, there are two recipes.

1. Dauntless Armor
2. Dauntless Helmet

Each recipe has a rare chance to drop from tier 3 danger mission end rooms / bosses, and the rarity is around 10% drop for one of the two. The Recipes can be bought / sold, and what is crafted can also be bought / sold on the AH.

Materials required will be comparable to crafting any other 5* gear minus the pre-requisite.

When learned and crafted, the piece of gear you get is random. Helm / Cap / Hat each have a 30% chance to be crafted, and Crown has a 10% chance. Suit / Coat / Poncho each have a 30% chance to be crafted, and Mail has a 10% chance.

They an receive UVs just like any other armor.

TL;DR I broke this post up in a way that you can skim through the post and get the necessary information without reading all of it.

A swifstrike and CTR trinkets with a mix of breaker armors would do just fine. You'll have to switch between breaker sets depending on status theme, but it's just a small inconvenience. They have no health bonus until you heat them up (a mere +1 won't break your idea either), but they are also cheap so you could grab an alt and produce 10 of them per day and vendor the heated ones if the +1 really bothers you :P

Trinkets and shields are more flexible since if you get tired of your self imposed "hardcore mode", you could still use them with your standard armor. A dedicated hardcore set becomes useless once you decide to "return to normal".

It's not perfect, but it'll do.

Hmm that and a medium ASI UV

Hmm that and a medium ASI UV on weps shouldn't be that bad to get.

Only complaint I would have is that the breaker armor doesn't carry a large enough amount / variety of negative status like the Chaos Armor, and Status isn't nearly as potent as they should be against me.

And not to mention negative stun is now non-existant! The one status that comes from attacks that typically -must- be dodged (trojan smash, Vanaduke smash, lumber smash), is largely defended by most items.
