So yet again I became endowed witha double max UV armor, this time a curse and shock max drake scale armor.
I was wondering which of the 5* branches would complimetn the UVs best? Silver Mail Or Dragon Mail?
I've been told that Dragon Mail is the way to go for LD, but I think the additional curse resist on silvermail plus shadow defense would pair nicely with my Black Kat Cowl, since curse can only be obtained from Shadow sources.
Any thoughts or opinions? Which line is most reasonable?
Shadow defence is useless in LD without normal defence. Even with an Ironmight/VP/AP Mail you won't have good normal defence which is the most needed defence in LD. But Silvermail would be the better path than Wyvern.
Quite the contrary, shadow defense is pretty helpful. My friend has Shadow max on his armor, and it helps reduce damage from GF blows. It does help, but marginally

Shadow defence with normal defence is usefull in LD, however.
Maybe you should read the full post instead of skimming over it.
It would be pretty good for RRT. Obviously you wouldn't use it all the time but it would be more useful if you used Gran Faust. Piercing for the Quicksilvers and Oilers (Shock and Fire), Gremlins (Curse), and construct in general. Unless you play Lockdown, it will be useless to make it into Radiant Silvermail.

Oh, I didn't know Umbra Driver and Sentenza and Dark Retribution all dealt normal damage as well. And I thought that sas only the case for Gran Faust and Acheron. But what do I know, you are much smarter than all of us.
I would say Silvermail.
1) shadow and piercing defense are excellent for LD
2) Curse resist that stacked would only curse 1 of your weapons instead of 2 normally (pretty sure)
3) Get a shock resist helm/helm with shock low UV and you can completely ignore VT.
