While this may not directly be the case with SK, the general idea is still there.
What happens when someone returns to SK after a leave of absense.
You're kind of missing the point.
People come back and are like "I've been gone for like a year and a half.. there must be some sort of new something!"
And we get to tell them- "welp, the black kats came which means that chaos is amazing now... there is a new boss... no, you can't fight it unless you pay 1 mill/get lucky/have friends that paid... the devs made this new fiend thing that's kind of easy and boring... um. And theres this compounds place, its worth a play or two.. the game has a different set of UI graphics now.. yeah, a bunch of players weren't happy about that, but a few were... no, the core/sleep/tortodrones aren't out... yeah, game looks and feels about the same, see you in another 6 months."
What i thought this was about was if your account would get auto deleted or something.
came back after 6 months and we got a new UI...
it's even worse then the cartoon -_- you get stuff nobody even wanted/asked for/tought off
Stocking up on crowns for the eventual ce price drop when pets lands. I'd advise you to do the same.
@ Little-Juances:
Original FFXI is still monthly fee as always. It's shocking that it has been able to survive that way for so long. I used to play it and it was probably my favorite game of all time. It has a pretty loyal playerbase... I remember when they tried to introduce FFIV, which was like the FFXI 2.0, and none of the loyal XI'ers even flinched. They all stuck to their "outdated" graphics and ps2 limitations. Just goes to show that when you have loyal players, if it ain't broke, don't fix it (here's lookin' at you, old item icons ; ;) That cartoon, although funny, was pretty inaccurate about the current state of that game, but w/e. It was still funny, and accurate in a general way about mmo's.
The game ain't difficult and is arguably easier alone, and you don't lose hours' worth of EXP upon death (but you get peeved and you may or may not spend 700 crowns to keep moving)...
But yeah, endless grinding. Some people are grinding just to stock up on crowns for when something actually happens. It's depressing.
