Instead of lowering this defense on here, or raising that resistance there, or any other math stuff: What if we just slap some purple curse energy on both pieces of the chaos set, giving anyone who wears them a smaller version of a Grim Totem ring, and call it good?
Also, would something like this even be possible?
that's not as much of a nerf as you might think...
swords are probably the most dangerous type of weapon to the user, getting in range to be hit. this would make swords almost completely useless in PvE for vana or other zombie areas. but all that really does is force more gun and bomb play, along with moving out of the way a lot more to make a kill count.
and this "nerf" wouldn't seem to have any effect on LD at all, which is the real reason people get upset with Chaos in my opinion.
-1 for this idea, but keep up the innovative problem solving.
