What the title sais, recently I started the heavy pulsar line but it's flashy bullets give me a horrible headache, yes I know they are small but still that flash hurts my eyes and makes me dizzy, I am not epileptic but is it still painful. I know I can lower the Graphics to fix this problem but I like the game on high. All I'm asking for is to create an option to disable this bullet effect and others that may be painful to others.

I know this can go in the suggestions but I wanted it to get a little attention.

Solution.

Don't use the Trollsar. You're not the only one it gives headaches to.

@Dementia

Really? I just got it cause lot's of my friends suggested it, but I am a swordsman so I wanted normal dam. I took it tried to heat it and 3 mins after I left my com. with a horrible headache.

@Little I had never seen anyone doing the supernova line since everyone goes for Polaris (Polaris doesn't give me a headache it's the flashing that hurts me.), so I then sort of understood why no one uses it. I searched google and no one has reported this before.

Maybe your monitor is too bright? Considering supernova is pure white....

Nope, my monitor is fine, as I said, it's the intense FLASHING that hurts me. Just buy one and see for yourself as I said, I had never ever seen one firing that was my first time.

Why not try the Blaster series? It doesn't do as much damage (roughly half), but you - and your party members - might find it more agreeable.

I already have the Valiance, but I find it ineffective and I wanted a better one.

I agree, but you just gotta get used to it. You'll be seeing hundreds of them.

People aren't actually reading his posts :/
Polaris doesn't give him a headache, just the rapid flashing of yellowy-white that the supernova line bullets have.
Generally polaris is better, as the two enemies that resist elemental (beasts and gremlins) will probably dodge the supernova bullets anyway. Also it shouldn't give you a headache as it doesn't have that annoying flashing.

That's interesting, I have a much smaller problem (merely aesthetic, not headachic) in the opposite direction; I rather like the bizarre look of the Normal-damage projectiles at higher detail setting than "Low," but my machine can't handle those higher detail settings. I also can't stand the added effects for the Elemental one, but that matters little when I find myself preferring the Normal one for Pulsegun use and my Alchemer for "lightning trope" use.

It's unlikely that those specific effects will get special toggles or even a simple removal any time soon, so what suggestions can youse offer beyond getting the Elemental version instead? Remember that the user wants Normal damage and somehow finds the Valiance ineffective.

EC, could you provide more detail on which aspects of the Pulsegun you use it for? Maybe that can help us find viable alternatives, if any exist. Not knowing exactly which properties you find most useful...

Maybe Avenger line? I haven't used one yet, but from what I gather it can spam high knockback to a great range, going right through monsters, and at 5-star also gains a wide cone of fire. I know it's got Elemental damage, but as a sword it's half-Normal, and even just the Normal component is very heavy. I use a Blazebrand to beat Gremlins silly, and it works fine despite being half-Elemental and Gremlins being resistant to Fire- if the Elemental Jelly sword is anything like that, its damage should be plenty for use as a gun.

If it's more about the mobility of a gun, I suggest looking into the Normal version of the Catalyser. It's not normally something I'd recommend for a swordie, but its attack combo timing is the same as Pulsegun and the projectile speed is similar. It's apparently got a steep learning curve for most peops, as you can very easily get yourself killed by blasting monsters into your own face if you don't understand how the knock works, but those saying it's random are mistaken. It's actually pretty simple: stuck bombs always orbit counterclockwise, always start on the North side of the monster, and simply knock away from the bomb's current position just like any other bomb. If you've got multiple bombs in different orbital phases around the same monster, they all add up the way you'd expect- bombs on opposite sides of a monster mostly cancelling out. When fighting Eastward, spamming alternating charged and uncharged attacks pushes kinda like Pulsegun. When fighting Westward, it can be used to quickly pull monsters toward you for smashing with swords. Obviously, with a bit of delay, you can reverse these directions. CTR and/or ASI should skew the knock direction Southward, and the slow projectile speed means you can use Doppler shift to change the interval between sticking and detonating.

If it's more about spam, the Normal Autogun is... well, it's also not for every one, and especially unlikely to be for a swordie, but it's worth mentioning since there are so few Normal damage guns and Pepperbox' charge attack has very nice knockback. If you go for Chaos, Pepperbox is an utterly wicked "wall of lead" tool IMO. If not using Chaos, but you know how to use Calibur and/or Fang of Vog on monsters braced against something, you're probably more than halfway to knowing how to use Pepperbox well.

What part hurts the most? When the bullets explode?

I think I know why you get a headache. The supernova bullets flash between white, red, green, and blue insanely quickly (If I can recall properly) on high detail. It doesn't afflict me, but I can understand why someone would get a headache.

First of all...

I need to know how old you are. Not to be rude, but it is something to be aware of that younger eyes can be more affected by flashing/strobing lights than say someone who is in their early 20s.

Another way to reduce this problem for you is to lower the in game graphics quality from high to med or low. This would remove some of the transients responcible for the strobbing effect.

Also, just from my experience, playing on a twitchy connection (with lots of lag/framerate drops) will also give you a major headache. Normally with me if this happens i restart my computer to clear out the local ram cache and that ussually resolves the twitchyness.

But what is curious is that you say that the pulsar line is giving you grief, when a majority of the other effects in game are way worse then them. Mainly some of the bomb lines. But this is my opinion, and im just trying to keep you from having this problem in the future.

@Geosmin I wanted to get a pulsar because I wanted a more powerful and effective gun that valiance with more powerful knockback to use when I'm in low health, I play mainly as swordsman, so I wanted all round gun since I have mostly swords, I would get avenger, but I have the t3 hamme already, so I don't need one.

@Hexzyle It's the rapid flashing of yellowy-white-red-green-blue that the supernova line bullets have.

@Glitchedpixel All you need to know is that I'm not an adult.
