It seems nobody can do a vana run...

I always go to haven and ask for vana runs since the JK runs give me barely anything at all. I ask, but nothing, so.

One question:

Why does nobody on earth seem to be able to...'access' the King Of Ashes mission, despite seeing vanguards all over(basically, i'm trying to find invites, nobody ofc)

E.g: I spend 1 straight hour searching every single haven instance and asking if "I could join a vana run please", but to no avail.

As I said, this is not trying to provoke anything, just a simple question.

there is a party finder, that people found it... too lazy. Why bother with interacting people, when you can hit the button and got the your party listed in party finder? On the other hand, get yourself a champion/vanguard rank, then you can find party opening almost all the time.

.

Those Vanguards are sick and tired of seeing T2 players coming into their runs and dying all over the place. I doubt they are willing to impose the same players on some random group's run.

FYI

FYI, I'm technically T3, I have 5* coat and helm, and a 5* sword, the rest is 4* and I can't access Party, cause i'm defender elite.

But thanks for the answers so far...

EDIT: Nevermind...

I sometimes drop people in the lobby

Sometimes people ask me to drop them in the lobby for King of Ashes. Often I do it. Often they neglect to say "please" and "thank you", which makes me less likely to do it in the future. When someone does you a favor like this, recognize it as a favor, and be appropriately thankful.

Also, be aware that people standing around in Haven "doing nothing" may actually be quite busy. Often I am running multiple chats at once, through /guild and /tell. So I don't have a lot of time to spend on random people whom I don't know.

Edit: The unusual time order of the posts above you probably arose because someone edited his post, which gives it a new time stamp. This is very common.

Well that explains everything

As the title says.

And I thought I said 'please' and 'thank you' too much...

No-Thanks
vana is tedious

i do jk runs 1st depth only gives me 1k cr easy depth dont need revives can just repeat

vana have fire have totems have wheels have traps have trojans have junk music(and so loud..)

jk much better :o

if i get it right ur t3 and cant access the mission in which case u could still try the clockworks to go to that fiery place. i mean if ur willing to spend an entire hour searching havens begging at strangers, u might as well try right? ehmm and whats wrong with finishing the missions anyways? ive read about ppl asking for fsc invites here and there, but it took most of the people less than a weak to finish all missions, when they were released. wth is up with THAT o.O.. just curious(im not familiar with rank system but isnt it enough to finish the basic missions? including king of ashes anyway)

Owlert summed it up pretty

Owlert summed it up pretty well. I don't have a problem with being nice, but my patience runs thin when someone who can't stop dying also won't stop yelling at people to revive them when they got the whole party wiped (not necessarily you, but bad experiences in the past). : /

I do it occasionally, but often I don't like to because of how often I get asked. Why should I have to load so that you can cheat the game? You're not even supposed to be there yet according to the game, and you have the arcade version of FSC to go to... and its not like its 1 person thats asking to go to the lobby, its like, someone on every other haven every time I log in asking "Hey can someone take me to FSC".

Just like I get the beggar argument every time I log in as well. "You have better gear/armor/more crowns/a picture of a horse by your name; you must be rich; you must have enough crowns to give me so that I can craft my X open my Y or go run Z." And its like yeah, I had to earn my crap now quit bothering me and let me say hi to whoever I know is sitting in Haven and use the auction house. Jesus.

Was black.

DO YOUR MISSIONS! It takes no more than a few days to get vanguard rank.

If you're T3, then what's wrong with Arcade?

When I was vanguard (yes, I used to, but I'm not saying anymore, and don't ask me). People used to spam me with requests and I would get sick of it. Barely anyone says thanks or shows any sign of appreciation. I don't ask people to get me in the lobby because I know that they're probably sick of it. Just either do JK/RT or arcade and don't get so annoyed when people don't respond. Soon when you're vanguard you'll know how they felt.

I usually entertain invites,

I usually entertain invites, or invite people from my guild cause they are all really nice. But I also like letting randoms join, because sometimes they are entertaining. It's also fun to see someone in full 5* with awesome accessories fail hard on the first depth. I love derpy party members, they always make it more interesting...

Anyways, if you see me in game, OP, you can ask me for a vana run. If i'm not signed up for LD, or getting Punch failures, then feel free to ask.

Nothing is funnier than inviting them, go AFK so they die on their own then kick them. Party blocked for you!

You are asking for actual

You are asking for actual vana runs or just invites to lobby? Most people have no interest in running vana with an unknown but no problem with lifting to lobby.

Instead of "if I could join a vana run please", try "Can anyone get me a lift to vana's lobby? please. Ty"

You can still wait for PUG at the lobby after the person who created the lobby left.

Just my two cents:

People don't want an hour and a half run and a much higher likelihood of requiring a mist revive when carrying a person. If you insist on going, have the person who invites you stay with you as people hate it when lower tier players are "dropped off" at vana.

If you can get a good guild and/or good friends, you can usually tag along with them. Run with people that know you and they shouldn't mind.

Right, because 3200CE can be obtained in a few days?

P.S: I'm kinda glad I don't have any accessories on my normal costumes... I don't get those requests often :o

Because of one of the 8-2 missions

You can't progress through the missions until you have 5* equipment.

To put this in perspective of a F2P player:

If you were to farm the Sovereign Slime mission, it costs 30 energy per run and yields ~ 2251 CR (or 3446 if you're counting boss tokens / sparks being used to buy and sell items). Each run takes about 30 minutes for players working on improving their gear.

So, if you're buying CE around 7150 CR :: 100 CE... It will take ~50 hours to upgrade a 4* item to 5*. So Weapon, Shield, Armor + Helm = 200 hours. This is, of course, not factoring in Mist Energy at all which would be something like a 13.2 E/M aid, but you get the idea.

It's really ridiculous and makes me not want to keep playing. That's why you don't see many people doing vana runs, I guess. Anyone who is paying / has stuck to it this long usually just finds a guild to run with rather than pug it.

Well...

So, that explains a lot, and I should rephrase what I mean, I just want to get dropped at a lobby, but I kept saying "could I join vana run"...grammar failure, indeed.

And to Illusion, just a tidbit, it took me 1 month of jelly king runs to get my vog cub coat, btw not even the recipe, that's just the energy cost...that's why I gave up doing JK and started vana.

And well, i'm not doing arcade cause of the energy costs, I need as much crowns as possible, I mean i'd rather take 16k than 10-12k(arcade), would I.

hmmm

It is seriously hard for me to obtain that 5* hoh certificate ._. But luckily my guild was very nice to offer me a ride fsc when it's available! Now that I pretty much can solo fsc, I don't really rely on using the party finder 2 do this becuz sometimes it's just annoying sometimes how you ended up having 3 other rank knight elitez in the party. In case you don't know, i'm not a big fan of carrying and waiting for so long on other strangers.
There should be like a 7 day fsc pass or something to buy for those who REALLY needed the token badly. And money xD say $5 each!? =O

Farming isn't worth it in Spiral Knights unless you live in T3.

1 royal jelly run, the first 2 levels = 2.2K = 11K per 100 energy
1 FSC run, all 5 levels and counting tokens = 11K = 22K per 100 energy
Stratum 4 (arcade): 850 cr average per level (this accounts for no arenas, and was how much I got on a recent run :P) =8.5K per 100 mist; variable time

1 royal jelly run takes about 30 minutes if you're using appropriate gear (for a T2 player) = 2.5 hours to get past mist*
1 FSC run takes about an hour if you're using appropriate gear (For a T3 player) = 2 hours to get past mist*

After this 2-2.5 hour period, you get:
11K-7K = 4K per hundred mist
22K-7K = 15K per hundred mist
8.5K-7K= 1.5K per hundred mist

If I farm for 10 hours...
...in one day:
Royal Jelly: 11K + 4K + 4K + 4K = 23K
Firestorm Citadel: 22K + 15K + 15K + 15K + 15K = 82K
Arcade stratum 4: 8.5K + 1.5K + 1.5K + 1.5K = 13K (if levels are the same length as in RJP)

...over 4 or 5 days, using exactly my mist energy:
Royal Jelly: 44K (or 55K over 5 days, if we're being entirely even)
Firestorm Citadel: 110K (or 88K over 4 days)
Arcade stratum 4: 34K (or 42.5K over 5 days)

Moral of this story is: Farming is WAY more effective on levels that pay out more, but in the end isn't worth it regardless of where you farm. I would advise T2 players to play what they want to play and to not farm... because ask yourself- is running nothing but the royal jelly really worth 10K?

*Both presume that you're in an average party that doesn't consist of 3 people wielding VH uv'd weapons.
