Its reaaallyyyy not smart of them to lock things like that. When a player goes out of their way to post something like "OOO DON'T IGNORE THIS" the size of Manhattan, he probably isn't going to be too happy about his thread getting locked without a word. It'd be muccchhhhh wiser for you game developer management community forum moderation team member peopleee to move the threads to the testing forum, and post an announcement stating why you moved their threads as well as perhaps even post in some of them. These are the people that care about your game, after all.

Alsoooooooooo

We should get a water status and a water storm citadel and autotarget should get nerfed and buffed and 5* winmillion that deals 1/3 piercing, 1/2 elemental and 1/6 normal damage needs to happen.

Firstly, the GMs DID post in every single thread that the OP should discuss it in the testing feedback.

Secondly, in the thread where players learnt about the new changes, aptly titled "BATTLE SPRITE TESTING - PLEASE FRAKKING READ!", in the third sentence Nick said where to put feedback.

If people want to be dumb and post crap in the wrong section after being told not to, then they should be treated like they're dumb and have their threads locked.

It doesn't matter if people posting are dumb, or if OOO posts like so, the posters see it as censorship. This is because OOO will make more money off of them, and the game will be a bit better, if OOO decides to listen to them and sympathize with them rather than just lock/delete their threads/refuse to discuss anything with them.

And no, they did not [at the time of my writing this thread and as far as I know] post in all of them saying why it was locked, and no, Nick/the GMs have not fully explained why they're changing the game to all of the ones that have cared enough to post threads.

So I think its a pretty nice idea that I would like to kindly "suggest" to OOO. I doubt they'll see the light of what I'm saying, because its very easy for people in charge of managing other groups of people to not actually care about them. But it'd still be lovely if they could just read my small post and tell us whats up.

If we all start creating 100 "I LOVE YOU OOO" threads they'll still lock and delete them too because they are spam.
People need to understand that. They are lawful neutral, not chaotic evil.

I'd say I'm playing the devil's advocate but OOO isn't exactly the devil so...

First of all, head to the graveyard. Look at all the locked threads. Now add that to the amount of threads in GD regarding the new update. You can now understand the concept of spam. Strong reactions caused everyone to want to make their own threads because they felt like it was all worth OOO's time to read what they wrote. And I'm at fault for that too.

Also, OOO seems rather adept at handling forumers. Why? Minor changes will always be complained about, yet people continue playing. Therefore they must be doing something right. Don't be upset if your suggestion/rant is "ignored" because explaining themselves actually probably isn't the best thing to do. I say this after reading an article from game devs points of views, which makes me want to take back my original thread on rebalancing Spiral Knights.

OOO has not rudely told anyone off which is quite remarkable considering that even some forumers told each other off. They did not explain their reasoning behind the changes either because, as the article explained, the players subconsciously prefer the mystery of why things are occurring. Imagine if they told you everything, from where they got the idea to how it progressed, every single time. It would make a nice story, but in the end, you would turn a greater critical eye and say "I liked the previous idea better" followed by quitting since there was less interest remaining. Less interest as there were less things to ponder about the game. Since I have a feeling that the mathematicians of the game will read this (the people analyzing all the damage and defense and health values), the game does not lost interest as you crack it wider open because the more you know, the more you realize you don't know.

As to moving them and leaving a note, its much more efficient to squeeze all the feedback into a few threads so they can be sorted easily.

And no, I am not Eury's alt.

So you're saying, that OOO should lock and graveyard people's threads and not let them discuss the upcoming content anywhere? I don't know if you've noticed, but there are quite a few angry players because of the actions that have been taken to deal with them. You think that bodes well? Because these people don't see this as a "minor change" like you do.

People spent a lot of time writing up their little rants on the game, and even if they went unread, it'd certainly be nice if OOO would take them into consideration, rather than just throwing them away.

Are our, the non-paying, non-testing, side of the community's ideas really spam?

I guess if you guys say so. Graveyarding.
