Although I am not new, I've never got a definite answer to this question: How far can UVs go in limit? Say for example, I have two ASI bonuses. One on my sword and two on my armor (Vog). The sword has ASI High, and the Vog set should equal up to Very High I believe. (Med+Med) When you add the two up, it should equal Maximum!+Med. My question is that do UV's have limits, as in it won't go farther than Maximum! in performance, or is it limitless, as it will it count it as a Maximum!+Medium and can go even further, say Maximum!+Maximum! ?
To simplify it, count it as numbers. Will it be 5+2=7, or will it only go up to 5 and nothing else higher? :U
UV Limit question
You're saying that if I had a Maximum! and a Medium of the same variant, then it won't count the Medium?
It won't count the medium. Or else, can you imagine someone wearing a full vog set (asi VH total) with a swiftstrike buckled (asi high), asi VH final flourish, and two asi med trinkets? That would give:
4+3+4+4=15 :3
No, the highest you can go is 6, maximum.
Read the wiki page "Abilities", which is linked from the wiki page "Unique Variant". The "Abilities" article explains this stuff, including both weapons and armor (which are very different).
Say if you have Vog Cub set equipped, and a Swiftstrike Buckler. The Vog Cub Cap is +2 Sword ASI, so for this case let's ignore Handguns and Bombs, and focus on Swords. +2 is the equivalent to ASI ''Medium''. So if you have the Vog Cub Coat as well that will be an additional +2. So 2 + 2 = 4, and 4 is the same as ''Very High''. Now that you have the Swiftstrike Buckler which is ASI High, 4 + 3 = 7, but we only care about getting 6, so that 1 left over does nothing. (+6 = Max!)
What crazy damge numbers would there be I wonder?
Blade-Of-Grass, the trend thus far is that each level of damage bonus gives somewhere between a 4% and a 7% increase in damage.
and wearing a skolver which has med sword dmg: so high (4) dmg on undead plus med sword dmg (2) should give me maximum dmg on undead, but I am only at ultra. Why is this?
Glacius UV high dmg on undead + skolver (med sword dmg) should equal max on undead.
High is only 3. Very High is 4.
You have med (2) + high (3) = Ultra (5)
Each level of damage bonus gives exactly 4%. However, this is 4% of the raw damage, before defence is deducted. The practical effect is therefore a bit higher.
Let's answer Blade-of-Grass' question.
I am at depth 28, and I am charging up my Divine Avenger against a zombie.
I rolled Undead VH on my Divine Avenger. (+4).
I'm wearing Chaos Cloak, (+2)
Black Kat Cowl, (+3)
and two damage trinkets. (+4)
I also have a maxed perk for zombie damage. (+3) (Don't ask what a perk is.)
We've reached a total of +16, making for a chunky 64% damage boost.
The wiki says Divine Avenger does 682 damage against zombies on depth 28. Let's deduct the 244.5 total defence a zombie has against a Divine Avenger...
682 + 244.5 = 926.5
...apply the damage bonus...
926.5 * 164% = 1519.46
...and subtract the defence again:
1519.45 - 244.5 = 1275.
If you hit a flying Howlitzer head, 1520 damage would be the highest damage number achievable if the game had no cap to how much damage bonus you could stack.
Zeddy, I know about your theory, and your "exact 4%". And I'm glad that you're reverse-engineering the game at that level of detail.
But (as far as I'm aware) your theory doesn't handle resistant damage yet, and most players aren't familiar with the "super effective" damage in your theory. They want a simple, short answer, even if it's not perfectly precise. So, when I need to give succinct advice to players that probably haven't been following your research, I'm sticking with "4% to 7%" for now.
