First, I'd like to note that the current proposed changes are sparking a lot of heat on the forums from many knights in specific predicaments, such as those knights that play on an alt that might be affected by equipment restrictions or those that see it a hassle to be present for every monster's defeat in case of loot. I understand why much of the coming update may be a source for irritation, and if that irritation continues I think something should be done to remedy it.
I steppeed back, though, and examined it with a little objectivity.
Personally, I think the upcoming tweaks to the system might be a bit beneficial. Sparks of life will now limit the amount of times a player may want to revive others, which will make team gameplay challenging apart from the emergency revive. Duplicated loot means no more squabbling over drops, and perhaps encouragement for team play in events like the previous Black Kat fiasco.
Orbs and Sparks will drop via Missions and Arcade, which can perhaps be a lucrative item for players that do not require them.
while I am not certain whether reducing the usefulness of CE will cause a positive or negative effect in the economy, I will say that, personally, I'm looking forward to the changes. If anything is intolerable once they're implemented, I'll let you know OOO.
For now, I'll congratulate you. I'm glad you're trying to make the game more friendly to F2P knights.
Something that's civil! May this thread rest in peace.
Honestly, people could write huge walls of text about why this and why that yadayada, but it seems until the patch is through or live OOO is not gonna bother with it. Yet.
I do think said heat on forums was unnecessary. But we are only human, and we don't always take change to be good. It's hard to even agree on simple things like... I don't know, make vitapods drop or something?
I did get the same reaction at first with most people, but then again I think maybe we should just wait and see WHAT gets done in the final version before we talk.
This is one of the few things that... you know what, I'll just grab a cup of tea, sit back and read through the paranoia.
