What are some (good/normal) Computers that runs Spiral Knights smoothly to play something like clockworks

I mean *cough* lockdown *cough*.

Also, computers that does not make you wait 5 minutes to get onto another map.
(basically loading and waiting for it to reach 100% when you go to a new map)

But mainly what are some good computers to run this game?

Also , mainly good computers to play lockdown.

Thanks for reading! :D

Ok so this has been here for a while and for the sake of helping I'll put my computer here. I use an Acer Aspire 540-6378 but I use it for multiple things besides SK. It's just an ordinary computer but by deleting the pre-installed junk, SK runs great. Only problems are wifi problems, but that has to do with the modem and not the computer. If you're a heavy gamer I'd suggest Alienware. Loading maps really depends on the wifi. Get a high-speed modem.

Compile the game on a lightweight linux distribution with only the most basic packages installed. No fancy user interfaces, no background processes.

That can save lots of CPU and ram (java LOVES your processor) usage so you won't need a super machine :P

@ Coelydragon
Thanks for replying :D Also You said that the loading was on the connection (Wi fi) but my houses' computers run on 1 home set up modem. It always gives 4 bars (excellent) of connection so I don't think it is the case. I am not sure tho, so I ama post some details.
Broadbrand router = 2.4 GHz 54 Mbps
Motorola modem SBV5121 cable modem

Also I think It is because of my graphics and the outdated computer which causes my immobility and 1 fps in lockdown.
I think it is VERY out dated :P
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asus_Eee_PC the 1000 is the one I use. OR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Asus_Eee_1005HA.jpg
correct me if I am wrong about the wifi thing

Cuz if it is i wonder how SK runs on it. The Uploader said it ran all stuff fast except 3D related stuff. Spiral knights is 3D!!!
So..HOW?

-Thanks

Linux is an open source OS. Meaning: you can get it online and replace or install as a separate partition onto any computer. I forgot about the possibility of Linux so thanks Little-Juances. Also, whatever you get, uninstall all of the free games and demos that come with whatever operating system. It really speeds up the computer. At home, my wifi can load a level in 5-7 seconds. Right now I have bad wifi so I've d/ced once and it usually takes about 20 seconds to load, if not more. Also, my computer is great with graphics, as it was built for watching movies, but I have yet to notice any problems with Spiral Knights graphics. I use a Master Blast Bomb and it doesn't lag with it. Occasionally, here, it lags, but I'm fine because my rhythmic fighting style and plate shield help save me a lot. At home, I can whip just about any level without a hint of lag. If you have the SSD version of your computer with Linux, the only problems I see you can have are that you ran out of memory on the SSD, you don't have enough RAM or your wifi is bad. What's your ping? (I don't trust the SK ping bars as I've seen them go through all four bars in the space of one minute.) SSD's are great, but it looks like you have a max of 8 GB which is as much as a sucky USB. If you have a SATA hard drive it won't be as fast, but you have more space, meaning it can run a lot faster if it's a ton cleaner.

Iaoa
for real SMOOTH

You should ask them to change this game type into .exe, and not running with java, such as minecraft it made by java, but why is it smooth, because it open

a sever yourself so there are no any lag for players, but now this game only a main server and it don't really reach all of the players,so players lag to make

this game smooth you should ask them (can you make more server support?)

I give up this long time a ago. [or maybe you can ask them to do so? hope you make it]

One topic is not enough?

One topic is not enough?

I can safely say that any decent laptop with dedicated (not Integrated graphics or Intel x000 graphics) GPU , (by decent i mean not the cheapest one, but also not the most expensive one) will run spiral knights.
7200rpm HDD for fast data read/write,
4GB of RAM is absolute minimum for comfortable performance of OS + application.
Any modern intel i5 cpu will do fine (i7 even better).
For best lag-free game dont use wifi, connect via cable. There is a lot of things you would never suspect that can disturb wireless communication and cause lags.
The larger sceen size and screen resolution is, the more loaded will GPU be and game may work slower.

And that asus may work good but its 3 year old laptop if you are actually buying something, you should buy something newer.
I dont know where you live, but a competent person from same country as you will help you better, since computers from same manufacturers may be diffrent and may be avaliable/not avaliable depending in which country you want to buy them.

Also some people should really stfu instead of posting bs, like the one suggesting inspirion 660s. You see a person who does not seem to be into computers and instead of helping you start to showing off with "fancy words", compile it on linux, blablabla, java is so bad, do it exe, blablabla.

"And that asus may work good but its"

"may"??? o.o why may. Will it run good?
Also in the minimum requirements for spiral knights it was stated that it needed GeForce 5 series.
Now i didn't get that part. becuz is it 500+ series?
if so, will https://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G74SX/#specifications still be able to run?

I build my own computers, and

I build my own computers, and I have the least lag problems out of anyone I know. For some reason I lag less than they do even though their PCs are better than mine (well, some are worse, some are better, including the overclocking). Here's my hardware:

Phenom II 550 3.75GHz
4GB DDR2 1000MHz
Radeon 5870 (though I feel this is irrelevant, as Java seems to be all about the processor and cares about as much about your graphics card as much as you do what brand toothpaste someone gets from the store... unless you're picky about that)
512GB OCZ Agility 4 (again I feel this is irrelevant, sure it helps me eek out load times a second or two faster than another guy I know with a much more powerful CPU, but once the Depth is loaded I don't think the drive has anything to do with it)

One thing that may be a major difference, though, is I run SK through 64-bit Java and use an extra.txt file as outlined in the link below. I'm not sure exactly how many of the people I know use this or don't, but I choose to knowing the issues this game has and I try to do everything I can to keep it running as smooth as possible.

Aside from that I'm rather picky about how I manage my computer. I tend to keep it clean and organized with as little crap running in the background as possible. I even go so far as to trim down the crap running in the operating system by tweaking what runs and how it runs through services.msc.
