Action!
Oh wait, maybe not.
The Proto Wars (No longer Accepting applications)
I'm waiting for you to give me a hook, some kind of post to bounce off of. I have no idea where Dagoon is exactly in the story, and she hasn't interacted with any characters. If she were in the training hall, the Finder would likely be intrigued by her mixed-race scent. If she directly interacted with a player character, that would be even better.
Sorry I'm Late! Kysen is unhappy, downright angry, infact. When we get out to practice he approaches a knight.
"You know why I'm here? Because you WIMPS got on Tinkinzar's bad side, and I wasn't okay with that. Now, you better die easily"
Anyways, I think I'm caught up, correct?
Actually, I think I'd like to rearrange the matches, which will commence in a few cradle hours.
Kysen-Finder-Dagoon-Kyrie
Susan-Chris-Ink-Equinox
(- = Vs)
--------------------------
Dagoon walked into the training hall, only to be annoyed.
"-know why I'm here? Because you WIMPS got on Tinkinzar's bad side, and I-"
"That's quite enough. Sure, you hate us. But for now, Let's ignore that, and think for a moment. We won't be getting any help outside of the games, so at the very least, shouldn't we decide who to pair up?"
"You'll never understand, weakling! I hate all of your race with a passion! It is in my blood. . ."
"This is meaningless. I try to offer a hand to someone, and it gets automatically sliced like nobody's business."
Dagoon looked around the room, to look at the contestants. The two people she took immediate interest to was a mixture of a wolver and a knight,
and another person who's skin appeared to be burned underneath her armor.
Can we have Kyrie in the Finder's group? I think that interaction would be very interesting.
Name: Rose Hawthorne
Gender: female
Age: 19
Race: human, Isoran, whatever
Allegiance: none
Bio: to be revealed
Arsenal: other than her Eclipse Scythe, she uses nothing but her Bowie Knife.
Eclipse Scythe- Like a real eclipse, the last thing a victim of this scythe sees is darkness descending upon them. Deals 4 bars of shadow damage
Appearance: average height, curvaceous figure. She has a rather enviable bust, and her eyes are a deep green. Her curly black hair is shoulder length and is tinged a light gold.
Personality: at first, Rose seems to be a stereotypical average teen girl. However, deep within her lies a primal rage and lust for blood. She's a yandere.
Skills: Rose isn't shabby at surviving in the wild and is an expert at hunting. She can barely experience the feeling of pain and is a fierce combatant. The scary part about her is the fact that, in her mind, there is no difference between hunting animals and hunting her fellow contestants
Sorry that I interrupted, ted.
I'm not sure how we're going to sort everything out, but you are accepted.
Not much..... @Liminori ah, no prob. I thought I was till Thin... *Shrug*
(OOC: Also, The Finder isn't wearing any armor. Her skin is her armor.)
The Finder took an interest in the strange newcomer, a female with an odd gremlin scent mixed in with the usual human scent. She wandered over to the newcomer and looked her over before tilting her head questioningly.
(OOC: She's essentially asking for a name.)
Hey, I think I may have heard Ready Aim Fire(Only background I could find.) or Radioactive before. Is it just me, or is it familiar, minus ready aim fire?
Anyhow. . .
---------------------------
I feel it in my bones, Nough to make my systems blow. . Darn, do they know how to make good songs.
---------------------------
The woman from before walked over quizically tilting her head (Adding a small power-play, as long as you are fine with it.), and writing one word on the ground. Name?
"I see. You too have the disability of speech? My name, Is Dagoon."
How was I supposed to know? It sounded a lot like blow.
Otherwise, That would only mean I missed one letter.
"With our backs to the wall, darkness will fall, we never quite thought we could lose it all. Ready aim fire, Ready aim fire. . ."
It's up to you really. Maybe a few posts that portray what she's good/bad at while on the way to the arenas I guess.
I wish I could at least try out the test server, for say, an hour.
First, sorry I haven't been around. Been busy.
Second, as a Hootowl, this is what I listen to for this story, though mostly it reminds me of Kid Icarus: Uprising.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=GYLEFcHM3rE&NR=1
It was the middle of the night, and the gremlin control room was in chaos. Alarms had been flashing for a good fifteen minutes, alerting them to the intruder in the compound. According to the radios, the intruder had been charging around the whole time, picking up gremlins and beating everyone else with them. She had gotten to where the wolvers were kept, and released those to make more mayhem. She had crashed through the training hall, shredding dummies and targets with her knife as she ran by.
An explosion went off just down the hall from the control room. Footsteps thudded towards the door. Thud. Some gremlins tried to barricade the door, though they suspected it would be useless. Thud. Some gremlins simply cowered under desks. Thud. "Control room? That's not what I'm looking for." The gremlins all let out a sigh of relief as the footsteps thudded back down the hall.
Later, in the dungeon, a door was kicked off its hinges. Rose Hawthorne stepped through, too exhausted to charge around anymore. She walked down the aisle, looking for an empty room. Reaching the back, she realized that there was none. So, she quietly unlocked the nearest door using a set of keys she had taken from a gremlin, then defeated several other gremlins with. There was an old lady snoozing at the back of the cell, holding a rocky core. Rose plucked the core from her hand, and wound up to throw. "Looks like a space just opened up."
How was that? I mean, we're 75 posts in, I think it's about time something destructive happened.
The Finder nodded and made a mental note of the name "Dagoon." She decided to test the strength of this knight before leaving, so she suddenly swung her thorn blade at Dagoon's neck without warning.
Speaking of le quarter quell, I has idea. I wanted to make Rose a multi-time champion of the Proto wars, someone everyone fears. She wants to make friends and have someone to confide in, but everyone tries to steer clear of her. She is, after all, one of, if not the most dangerous contestants of the Proto Wars. And the least sane.
As a comparison, if you read a book called "Wings of Fire", the character Peril is very much like Rose. Only Rose is even more mentally unstable. So, if the games have begun already, Rose would be in the arena, not in the control room.
Dagoon could hear the blade swishing, towards her head. Instead of sidestepping, she quickly ducked and threw her legs out towards the finder.
Dagoon then rolled to the side, Just in case. Making sure none of the gremlins were looking, Dagoon held out her hand for the finder.
"So. . . What was that just now? Wait a second."
Dagoon checked her pack, to (Thankfully) Find a pencil, and a notepad. She then handed these to the finder.
"You can keep them if you want."
She took the pencil and paper and wrote in an ancient (and beautiful) script, "Testing reflexes. Passed." She handed back the pencil and paper and sheathed her thorn in her leg. She walked over to the other human female prisoner, the crazy one with short hair, and looked her over.
Definitely crazy.
he SAYS it hasn't begun..... but.....
The only interesting note about Kysen is he seems sad while looking at Ink....
He then changes from sadness to deviousness....
"The wimp doesn't stand a chance...."
Rose
Blood. Death. Is that all I live for? Is that my only purpose in life? My parents abandoned me because of my true personality, everyone shuns me. Even the Gremlins were hesitant to let me join the games. Everyone looks down on me like a rabid animal. I'll show them. They'll all die.
I wake up in my holding cell- every contestant has one in the days before the game begins. I see the Finder- is that her name? Yeah, that's it- staring at me in disgust. She looked me up and down like I was an exotic dish to be presented on a silver platter- in a way, I was. She glared at me as if to say "You're insane. Someone ought to put you down." I glared at her calloused skin and charred figure, thinking, "You're not much to look at yourself." The Finder sneers and walks away, scribbling something down on a piece of paper. I watch her walk off, and catch some of my fellow contestants looking at me in both awe and fear- In the four years I had competed in these games, every time I took the title of victor. I glared at them all, my steely gaze as cold and emotionless as ice.
I'll kill all of you.
___
Sorry that my post took a while. I faking hate auto correct, and it can go to he'll for all I care
I glare at Rose while testing the wires on a straw, burning, dummy. She only looks at the Finder, never seeing, she might as well be a blind rat in the sewers for how much she can understand the Finder. I close my eyes, remembering my beloved Forest of the Dead. I was cruelly ripped from my Forest, and I awoke here. When I mention it, none answer, and some question what I was talking about.
I meet Rose's gaze as it passes over everyone. I only stare hard enough to leave a small memory, and turn away as her gaze moves on. I whip the electric wire on my right hand, and it whips straight through the dummy, fully electrocuting as the dummy bursts into flame. I walk towards the metal gauntlets next, placing a spiked one on one hand and I punch the straw arnored dummy in the chest plate, making a dent and electrocuting at the same time. I toss off the gauntlet, and go to the climbing station, a strip of web-like ropes going up to a canopy of ropes covering the ceiling. I'll hang there until something, if anything, happens...
"It's the legend herself..."
Thinks Kysen, staring at Rose with a slight sense of fear that he'd never admit.
"I guess I'll have to show her the power of a true gremlin. The others gremlins are nothing but beasts. But I rebelled, forcing me to see gremlins from the outside. All they are are beasts, pushed on by the fear of their own king. They, but not me. And there will be one of two results from this. Either all these fools will fall to my father's hammer, or we'll all escape these creatures. They're like cats. They play with us before killing us, treating us like toys... but I will not be fooled."
"You, the gremlin. What is your name?"
"It's Kysen, but why must you ask?"
"I have one thing to let you think about before the games. I am part gremlin."
"And that should concern me, why? Honestly, just because you are the same race as me even slightly doesn't affect wether or not it's fine for me to kill you, and it won't matter in the end, because I'll be forced to kill you anyway."
"Ok, maybe, but isn't there some kind of way to altogether ignore that? Override the rules?"
"What, you mean, like multiple winners?"
"Yes! that way, it wouldn't matter who won or lost, everyone would still live!"
"I'll consider it, Miss. . .?"
"Dagoon, and please, don't call me Miss Dagoon."
-----------------------
Tell me whether or not I should change this.
Well, are you? It's mostly up to you. I suppose if you wait long enough, the Finder will come over to your character, but it could be a while.
I give the Gremlin and hybrid a curious look, and they both recoil. They've probably heard the rumors about how I mercilessly ripped other contestants to shreds... and seen me do it on television. I smile shyly at them; I was never good with interacting with people. Probably why I decided to enter a contest in which I killed them. Fiddling with my fingers, I ask, "You really think we can have more than one winner?"
The Gremlin's eyes narrow in suspicion and he replies, "Yeah. We do. Not that you'd be interested. You'd rather kill everyone in the arena." I winced; that statement was like a slap to the face. All I wanted was a friend. My parents abandoned me as a child. Other children spat at my feet when I walked by. Adults chased me away from their houses instead of inviting me in and giving me love and care. That's all I really need. If I can't have that, then all I have left is blood. And death.
I shake my head slowly at the Gremlin. "Actually, I would. Listen here; of you find a way to ensure multiple victors, then I'll do everything in my power to help you. If not... Then when I see you in the arena, don't expect the word 'mercy' to exist in my vocabulary."
----
What they don't know is that I already tried that. Two years ago, I tried to spare a young girl, a gremlin child who had survived simply because she avoided everyone in the arena. The people in power forced me to kill her anyway. And when I came back out of the arena, I was tortured in every gruesome way imaginable. If these two tried that, they'd fail. I knew the only way to reach that end was to topple the entire Gremlin government and drive them out.
And we all know that isn't happening anytime soon.
"Excuse me, gaurds, which way are the cells?"
"The hall to the left, then take a right at the second hall."
"Thank you." Dagoon said, as she left to go to her assigned cell.
Searching through her pack, she eventually found what she was looking for. She put on the brown fur coat, and headphones on, then topped it of with her father's cowboy hat.
"I'm ready for you. . ."
I'm currently experimenting on something in a lab I have in Emberlight.
"This creation isn't working so well..."
An Emberlightian gremlin told me "You'll eventually get it done. We want Emberlight to be an utopia. If you can make this invention, it'll affect so many gremlins here."
"Alright."
I decided to take a break from my invention to rest.
"Can someone please place me in my sleeping bag?" I said because I'm in a wheelchair.
The Emberlightian gremlin that was speaking to me assisted me.
I woke up next morning and I saw all of the parts for my invention was gone.
"I said who could've done this? It must be someone who wants to terrorize Emberlight..."
This is when I started my case. I needed to find information about the being that would do this. I start to explore.
Name: Axis (nickname Trigger)
Faction: He, himself, and him. (and a mysterious ever blazing force in Cradle)
Race: Isorian
Arsenal: Axis is heavy on burning things to charcoal bits. A homemade flame-thrower supplements these needs. He also uses firecrackers to incinerate his enemies. His secondary is are a lighter that can be modified into a makeshift remote igniter. His only melee weapon is a tactical knife that he can light on fire with flick of a switch.
Bio: Being one of the first (second only to alpha squad) to touch down on Cradle, Axis quickly grew aware of how dangerous Cradle and the Clockworks were. But something else on the planet quickly took notice to him too. Vog, the eternal fire of destruction...ignited something in Axis. He quickly grew as one of the most ruthless knights. With the gremlins introducing the Proto Wars, it only helped feed the blaze of destruction inside Axis. He's a veteran of the wars, his countless murders have earned him the nickname "trigger", for setting his enemies ablaze with just one click of his flamethrower's trigger. When people ask him why he's taken a life of such....violence he simply replies that Vog compels him to.
Appearance: He wears a hood, a second piece attaches to the bottom half of the hood, covering his nose and mouth. It's been modified to be a gas mask of sorts. Wears a regular wolver coat, significantly singed in places. He stands at an ominous 6 feet, and has short black hair, his right eye is an unnatural red, while his left is normally brown. He is actually quite sane, but his pyromaniac tendencies showcase him as a maniac while on the battlefield.
Accepted!
*Lightning Flashes, and strikes next to Axis*
I estimate that the next update will probably be on the 24th.
I couldn't help but laugh to myself. The competition for the Wars this year was pathetic. Tons of no names looking to gain a little fame and wealth, all waiting to be turned into ash. I look on from the second floor of the training facility. The only people that actually posed a problem were The Finder, and Rose. While I didn't think much of the Finder, her record spoke for herself. The burn marks on her interested me the most. Was she chosen by Vog, or cursed, or was I looking at this the wrong way? Rose on the other hand, was much more publicly known for her ruthless victories in other matches. I never had the pleasure to be in the same yearly game with her. It was about time someone cut her down to size. I flick out my tactical blade. I keep fiddling with the lever on the bottom right of the blade, repeatedly lighting the blade on fire, then extinguishing it. It seems I was a bit too loud, since half of the faces on the first floor turned to look at the noise.
I sit amongst the ropes, softly swinging from side to side. I turn my head to only eye a man who was lighting up his blade, and scoff. I could do that too, but showing everyone you're special is probably going to draw more enemies than allies, seeing as more people would be afraid. I could counteract the blade with a quick Freeze touch. I couldn't block the blade itself, but at least burn marks were avoidable. I look at my hands, their tint changing from icey blue to a devil-like magenta as I stare from Axis to Rose to the Finder. I can either hurt them, ally with them, or kill them.
But like hell I'm going to die.
I swing from the ropes, swinging the 30 foot jump and landing in such a way I didn't shatter my legs. I wonder...no, staying with allies would be bad...
I lie back in my cell, patiently awaiting the beginning of the games. I scowl at one of the contestants. He was incessantly lighting and extonguishing his combat knife. Probably trying to intimidate us all. I've seen that happen before. They tended to be the most arrogant contestants... And my first targets. The guy glared at me like I was nothing but chum, and I returned his fierce gaze.
I think I'll kill you first.
____
What's that? A Kysen/Dagoon/Equinox/Rose alliance? What? :3
((I think that was the vs. plans...))
I am now over by the testing station. Rows of armor-strapped straw dummies line up. I smash my magenta hand into one's chest, a Curse vibrating through the dummy. I move my hand from the small dent, and move to the next. I punch the straw face, catching it aflame as it burns, the armor clattering to the floor. I move from one to another, using each status damage to destroy the dummies. I test out the wires on the Elite dummies, the Gremlins' own inventions. I jump and dart over each Lumber, grappling myself from the air each time to dose out shocks.
I land on the floor, five Lumbers dispatched. I could get used to the arena. It had as much death as the Forest of the Dead, blood in the soil itself. I can use that. No one has ever seen me long enough to find out what my connection to the Forest of the Dead actually was. Yet it felt right. Something else I felt was connected there...something lost and begging to be found(will be found out if Finder's Keepers ever returns).
I feel disturbed by the arena. Something isn't right there. There is something....SICKENING I feel is waiting for me. I feel like this is one of my last adventures, yet it doesn't feel like death. Death, I'm not afraid of. This....this feels like a storm.
@Seatus: It could end up as an alliance before you know it.
An unexpected alliance is probably good for bouncing off posts...yet the sae goes for combat.
I have secrets here that carry out in Return to Cradle: Origins....
I walk over to the clockworks prison, and I see everyone in their cells. I notice Rose.
"Why are you here?" I say.
Kaijuhunter has to answer me.
The entire base is on a different level. That would mean that it's a lot higher than emberlight. :P
The whole meaning of proto wars: A battleground for weaklings. "Not"
/e is sleepy...
Anyways,, the action will start in the next post :3
