I have just recently formed a guild but it seems I have not been getting a lot of support. In fact I have not gotten one recruitment on the guild thread. I was wondering how you start a guild and what I'm doing wrong. Also please read the guild thread.

I need advice
Im going to keep the guild in default untill we have at least 15 members (if that even happens.) But does it work that way? I have the guild thread in Guild recruitment if that helps.
Also I have my fair share of ce for the guild.
There are many guilds already. Why have you created another one? If you're like many guild masters, it's because you want to be in charge. I'm not saying this to be mean; it's a natural human tendency. You need to come up with a niche --- a special goal, purpose, or personality --- for your guild. Also, don't count on the Guild Recruitment forum. You need to stand in Haven and talk to guildless knights and entice them into joining your guild.
Well making the guild because I want to be in charge never crossed my mind I just wanted to create a community that was different from all the other ones.Weekly events and such Is something I have never seen in a guild so I guess I just wanted to have fun in a guild for once. The reason why Im trying to make this is because nobody else has.
There are a variety of factors that go into how to expand a guild, from the people in it to what you can provide for members that other guilds cannot. Like Bopp said, think about what your point in making a guild is and see that it comes to life. I can tell you now that weekly events are not unique, and a lot of guilds do this including my own. Give people a reason to join and stay.
My advice is to always be active. You need to act professional, friendly, and show bravery, not shyness. Also, invite the noobs haha... When more people join just kick 'em out.
I'm listening to all of you and I'm very thankful for all the advice and I'm keeping it close to mind. Also I'm renaming the guild to Retro.
Im not even in a guild right now, but I have good advice.
Take along a couple of your friends and try to have them advertise. Or, if they arent in a guild, invite them for the first members. Also, don't forget that the forums and more or less the wiki is a perfect place to advertise. Try coming up with a big event (most likely a SL), and pot that on the GR forum. Don't forget that noobs usually appreciate some help, so get them in our guild, help them achieve proness, then you got your first set of members. However, getting more people to notice your guild will take some time, so be patient.
I recommend wearing pants while in public, not pulling down the pants of those not paying attention, and most importantly remembering that shirts are for your upper body and pants are for the lower body. If I had a nickel every time I accidentally had my shirt and pants on switched I would have enough coins to throw at someone until they become mildly annoyed and leave the area.
As for leading your members, remember that a hand in your pants is sweatier than bathing in lasers is an inconvenient way to trim your hair.
@Aiden, it's a good idea to start a guild with some friends you can count on to form the core of the guild, and who will help you grow it later. Don't focus on getting big from the start.
Well it was going to be with a friend but he bailed.
Hello again. In order for a guild to get well known, it does take time. There are other people that can explain what to do, and what not to do. So instead, I'll just give you general advice.
Don't just hire people just so your guild can have a high number of people. It's better if you get to know who your inviting to your guild. That way, it will feel like your hanging out with friends, instead of random strangers.
Also, there is the upkeep that has to be paid in order for the guild to not be in default, which is bad. Are you going to provide the funds for the guild yourself, or are the members of the guild going to pitch in and help? The cost may be high, but it's nothing farming can't solve. A course, this works best if there are many members in the guild. And since your guild is fairly new, it would require a huge amount of cr for each person to donate.
And finally, just be kind, and cool with your members. But harsh when needed to be as well.
