Crafting to sell?

It seems that no one is willing to buy 2-4* crafted items without UVs for even how much it costs me to make them. A 2* suit costs me 1k cr and 100ce to make, and with the cost of energy that's 6000 crowns, not to mention mats or the recipe. But whenever I reply to someone's WTB with a 6.5k cr or 7k cr offer, they flip!

I've explained that anything lower than 6kcr won't cover the cost of making the item, but I still can't find buyers. Who is selling crafted items for less than they cost to make? Why?

What is my incentive to sell people crafted items? Will I actually make a profit if I craft and sell 5* items?

Not trying to complain here but curious to see if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm just not finding reasonable buyers.

What are you trying to sell?

What are you trying to sell? Have you tried putting it up in the Bazaar on the forums? Besides UVs its important, if you are crafting just to sell to craft items that are frequently used / wanted. And it's even better if they are not frequently sold.

I generally just respond to people on the Trade channel when they say they are wanting to buy chroma and salamander suits, wolver coats, skelly suits, etc. I figured the bazaar was mostly for UV 5* items.

Sell the mats instead, the

Sell the mats instead, the only pre-made items I'll probably sell are my failed attempts at crafting my own gear with UVs. Also when the AH gets put in I'm sure they'll be a market for everything of course the usual under cutting will happen but I doubt anyone will be willing to take much a loss and this way people will realize that those prices are just the regular prices and they'll shut up about it being a rip off.

UV hunters everywhere!

The problem is that people are making -hundreds- of weapons and armors in a search for UVs, more than they can sell, really. The price for any 2* item that is the foundation of a 5* line - is 2000 crowns. That's enough more than selling your failures to an NPC vendor to make it somewhat worth the time to be trading in premades, but nowhere near the cost of making, of course. That loss only adds to the value of the eventually crafted UV items. The auction house will drive the price even lower because there won't be the trouble of dealing with /2, and anything above vendor value will be good for the UV hunting crafter.

3* items can be sold for a little above cost, and 4-5* items for a -lot- above cost... but at 4-5* you are heating things up yourself.

Thanks Senshi, that's what I was looking to find out. :)

Disappointing but I guess it makes sense. Guess I'll start heating up to sell Volcanic Salamander Suits and Valkyrie Helms instead.

basically supply and demand

basically supply and demand again.

There're too much supply for 2* item without UV because ppl are masscrafting em to get UVs.

Right. Higher * items have a

Right. Higher * items have a better market since they aren't being mass-crafted by UV hunters, but the 1* and 2* item prices have been killed by the huge excess of items made by those wanting to get UVs.
