Hi! I'm going to tell you how to fix "gunshot errors". First of all, if you are experiencing gunshot errors, this will result in:

1. Gunshot delay

2. No gunshot shot out of gun

3. Gunshot does no damage

This is very annoying, especially in Lockdown, so here's how to fix it.

Ready? This may take a while for you to think about it.

1. Untoggle Auto Target

There. That should fix it. Any questions?

Yeah, how you can call it a

Yeah, how you can call it a "fix" if it requires disabling auto target that is integral part of game. Its just a mere workaround not a "fix".

FALCON PUNCH!

There is something I've noticed about guns, is that when you shoot, the bullets look normal, but when you see other people shoot the exact same gun, they are somewhat faster.
Like, alch switching, I'm good at it, but I look at other people and they are going about 2x the speed I am, I ask them how fast I'm going and they say I'm going faster than them. so there's a sort've lag when firing guns, which is why when you shoot someone it may not always hit even though on your screen it did hit.

I thought this was a Spiral Knights forum,
not a Guns & Ammo™ forum.

Just ignore the LD rager.

Just ignore the LD rager. He's probably angry because of AP/Sentenza or Valiance users keeping him stun locked.

I

I'm not mad lol!

I thought i'd help people who are struggling with those errors with their alchemers. Btw, I don't play T3 Lockdown.

P.S. Hi Asukalan!!
And I didn't know Fallconn still plays

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Believe it or not, lag changes projectile speed. When you are lagging really bad, the charges on autoguns looks like a slow motion cyberspace gun. (Which makes a 'Z') When others shoot, it always looks fine.

In other words, there is ALWAYS a bit of lag, albeit small. You might not be able to see it, but it's there. Therefor, bullets look slower to you, but not to others.

Yeah. Removing the training

Yeah. Removing the training wheels/crutches for newbie or impared gunslinges or Vana Blitzers is TOTALLY a fix!

You know what? I love you. You're my most favouritest person in the world. i wanna give you all my crowns and CE. Heck, I even love you than I love my mom and dad.

Failure to catch the obvious sarcasm will result in a Blitz Needle up where the armor doesn't absorb mist energy.

Edit: Yes, I've read the previous stuff. This post is meant to be taken as a complete joke.

/sigh

Firstly, do you know what latency is? Did you know I can fire two pulsar shots and none of them registers because some silly antigua interrupted me thanks to peeeeeeeeng (ping)?

Secondly, in case you get misinformed: 4 bars = <100ms ping, 3 bars <150ms ping, 2 bars <200ms ping, 1bar = >250ms ping. (something like that, anyway.)

Thirdly, do you even use alchemers? If you do you'll know that autotarget does NOT work on alchemers for any range outside 4 or so squares. AT ALL. So that point does not even make sense.

Autofire is right, Fall. Latency/lag will always make your bullets appear slower. This is because when the bullet reaches the maximum range, they actually correspond to when the bullet will hit serverside. Unless you have 0 ms ping (which is impossible) others' shots will always look faster. The same thing applies to charge time and bomb fuses.

Couple of facts:
1) AT Does not work on guns UNLESS you are not moving while shooting
2) Theres a delay between your computer and the server, When you shoot, you must wait for the server to recieve this data which takes some time, while this is happening, in your screen you see the bullet hitting your target, but in the server the bullet is still coming out of your gun. Unless you live next to the server, this is totally normal, therefore cant be fixed.

Turning off AT won't fix

Turning off AT won't fix that. Though most guns are easier to use without AT IMO.

@Fallconn

Chances are it's because you're walking forwards while shooting/being shot at. That means your bullets move away from you more slowly, and enemy bullets move toward you more quickly. It's all relativity. Just a guess though.

@Fallconn and bullet speed

I thought the slow bullets on your side was the game's way of making up for latency. This is guesswork, but I'm thinking something like:

> The game estimates that the server will take .5 seconds for the bullet to reach that point at its 'real speed' (the speed you see other people's bullets move)
> It will slow the projectile's speed down on your screen so that it reaches those points at the same time - so that your bullet reaches that point on your screen at the same time it's estimated to reach that point on the server.

------
If it actually works this way, then it will mean that the bullets will possibly be inaccurate before the end point.

Either way, when dealing with fast moving targets (kats, howlitzer heads, strikers), I still have to miss on my screen a tile or two ahead of them (or really, .2-.5 seconds ahead) in order to make the server register the hits >_<;

---

Also the OP is wrong. I don't use autotarget and I suffer all of those effects. It's all latency. /rude.
