Graphic Problems
"We were unable to initialize the game's graphical display. " Why does this keep showing up if I have an average system?
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600)
Processor: AMD Phenom (tm) II Processor 555 3.2 GHz X2
Memory: 4096MB RAM
In dxdiag
ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics (Microsoft Corporation WDDM 1.1)
Current View: 1024 x 768 (32bit) (60Hz)
Approximate Total Memory: 1661 MB
I need to update something? please guys help me.
WDDM means: Windows Display Driver Model
WHICH MEANS: your video driver came from the win7 install cd or maybe windows update
WHICH MEANS: you don't have the most current version from the ati website
WHICH MEANS: you didn't read the technical problems sticky (conveniently labeled 'read this first')
in other words you need to go to the ATI website and get the latest drivers
this page has the file you need for your card (radeon 3100 is embedded on yo motherboard, has the 780v chipset): http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/integrated_win7-32.aspx (you probably don't need the APP edition)

Actually the Windows Display Driver Module is separate graphics driver. It is a "command layer" (if you will) that schedules commands from programs to the GPU. WDDM 1.1 is the version available to Vista and 7, this is a major improvement over the old XP model because it allows asynchronous access to the GPU. This means if one program locks up the display driver it does not take your entire display system with it like it did in XP.
A cool improvement introduced in Vista that vastly improved the Windows experience.. but looked over by the nutty media.
So has anyone been able to solve this as of yet...? My friend is facing this problem on 3 different computers which is odd so if anyone was able to by pass this one way or another I'd really appreciate letting me know

Almost every case of "We were unable to initialize the game's graphical display" has been related to out of date Java/Video Drivers or using a video chipset that is not powerful enough.

I recommend you or your friend make your own fresh thread with the specific computer details so you can get better help.
Have you given the technical problems sticky a read through and attempted those fixes?
