Why were so many levels removed?

Only because I'm interested and always trying to find more out about the "old" spiral knights.

That was Spiral Knights in beta before. Although I'm not sure why they decided to remove those stuff. They look fun.

Half of them are unnecessarily big and empty (read: boring and easy).
Like the fight with the Vogs, it seems bigger than when you fight the rabid snarbies.

Tighter rooms are more challenging, probably consume less resources...

You sure do, a similar (same exact?) piece is used in clockwork tunnels.
