I was wondering witch would be better Combuster or Glacius
I alredy have blizzbrand so i perfer glacius cause i think its more fun cause freeze is better than fire in my opinion
Glacuis or Combuster
Glacius is good for charging and freeze monstors and then it gives you time for another charge. Combuster is for more damage I guess.
i decided for glacius long ago after thoroughly thinking about how many situations each sword type would cover best
but at that time, there were neither arsenal stations, nor 5 explosions, so id have to go through all that again in order to get a good decision <.<
just get both :o!
start with combuster i did that too(right now burning oilers arent anywhere near as dangerous as they used to be, while freezing ice cubes havent been nerfed much<-correct me if im wrong)
I prefer Glacius. Not because it's better, but because it's more fun. Combuster is in my opinion the most overpowered sword in the game. Takes all the fun out of it. Glacius, on the other hand, only takes 42% of the fun.
"Glacius, on the other hand, only takes 42% of the fun." According to you, Glacius takes away almost half the fun out of the game for you, yet you still use it?
I don't own either, but I've seen other threads like this. And from what I've seen people have said that Combuster deals more DPS, and Glacius is more fun for soloing, because other party members just attack other monsters and break the ice. So...if you solo more than party up, then Glacius might be more suitable for you. But if you're a party member and love dealing a little bit more damage, then the Combuster is for you. problem with Combuster is though, is that it can be a little bit of a pain for those Oilers in Firestorm-Citadel.

That's a reasonable thought, but it's not really true. I charge Combuster at oilers all the time in Firestorm Citadel. They die. If you're still nervous about it, then don't charge Combuster at them; just make regular swings, and they'll die quickly.
Oiler will just die without lighting up with combuster charge. Even if in the case it does not die, it will be quite far away from you. You can do another charge and it will die this time.
"If you're still nervous about it" - I said that I don't own either of the swords, but I just know that when Oilers ARE on fire they can be a bit of a pain. Especially in Compound 42.
@Levenza Toxoilers in C42 are a heck lot more dangerous because of two things: Poison, and their "dash" attack, which was removed from oilers a long time ago. Also, Toxoilers spawn in swarms- you will NEVER see more than 3 oilers at any one time in FSC. And even then, chances are the shadowfire would have ignited them before you even get close (D24), or the Red Rovers would have (D25 room).
And even then, normal swings are more than enough to handle them anyway.
TBH i choosed Glacius for my first 5* weapon it is good and helps you when a slag is about to jump at you and you just flash freeze them get me through alought of runs..

Okay, use whatever works for you. But let me just point out that when a slag is jumping at you and you release a Combuster charge at them, they just die, which is even better than freezing.
I use Combuster because it has a higher damage potential, but for another reason too. All swords have some sort of knockback, and for heavy gunslingers that is just what they need. The 3 star and up Brandish lines have explosions, causing even further knockback, but if you freeze the enemy, it cancels the knockback.
Personally, I am not a huge fan of freeze, but this is my own opinion.
Questions like this, about which Brandish is best, are frequently asked. Try searching Google for something like "spiral knights forum glacius combuster". My own answer is here:
