Hi everyone,
It's been a while that i was searching in the wki for a good combination of helmet and coat for a Gun/Sworder character and I thought about putting together the Divine Veil as helmet, the Deadshot Mantle as coat and the Grey Owlite Shield. For the weapon i thought to use primarily Argent Peacemaker for elemental damage, Blitz Needle for piercing damage and Acheron for shadow damage.
Please write what you think about my loadout and what i should change to make improvements.
Thanks.

not bad, but could be better

For armor, Divine Veil with Deadshot isn't bad, but it's weak on normal protection, and its offensive bonuses are mostly monster-specific. So, for example, it will be poor in the Vanaduke fight. (Vanaduke does tons of normal, and your only offensive bonus will be handgun ASI+1.) Here are some other ideas:

* Consider the Chaos set. It's offensively outstanding, although the status penalties can hurt.

* Consider mixing one piece of sworder gear with one piece of gunner gear --- for example, Vog Cub with Shadowsun.

For weapons, consider an elemental alchemer instead of Argent. Argent is easier to use, but the alchemers do higher damage in the hands of an expert, who knows how to exploit the ricochets. Most of the alchemers also do status. If you find yourself having trouble against fast piercing-vulnerable enemies (devilites and greavers), then consider a piercing sword instead of Blitz Needle. Finally, if you do go with a piercing sword and you want to change your shadow sword to a gun, then consider Umbra Driver.

guides

Have you read the Gunslinger Guide on the wiki? You might also read my detailed sword guide, if you still want to go hybrid. Also, try searching Google for stuff like "spiral knights forum gun loadout". This sort of question has been asked many times.

The short answer is that you want all three special damage types, as you probably already know. I'd go with Storm Driver, Umbra Driver, and Blitz (although I'm fond of Callahan too). As far as armor goes, blanket damage bonuses cannot be replicated by UVs, so you want them from your armor, trinkets, and shield. Consequently, you want Shadowsun or Chaos, or maybe Nameless. For shield you should consider Swiftstrike Buckler, which offers terrible protection but a fantastic offensive bonus. The items I'm naming are the most popular, powerful stuff. Later, you may decide to try other interesting weapons, such as Catalyzers.
