The Right Price

They asked for constructive feedback on the cost of reviving. Now I don't want bickering like everywhere else. I want discussion that will get us a fair price.

Here's my suggestion. Tier one newbies don't understand that reviving uses the same energy as elevators. I therefore propose a price of 10 energy and max 2 energy revs giving them a total of 4 chances and leaving them with some elevator fee to spare. Tier 2 players know better and rev sparely. Currently the average I see is three revs which equals 35 energy. I think 20 per rev should be fine since 2 revs would be 40 but they already have a free rev and therefore get a good deal. Tier 3 players tend to have energy to burn. 50 is extreme as that's a whole FSC run. But 30 is too low and 40 is too high. Ideas?

Discuss!

my 2 cents

you do realize there's a Thread called: "Post your feedback here about: STUFF THAT IS NOT BATTLE SPRITES"

http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83481

right.......?

Tier 3 players tend to have energy to burn. 50 is extreme as that's a whole FSC run. But 30 is too low and 40 is too high. Ideas?

Seriously? We have more energy to burn because we are T3? What is that logic? So you played through 1-2 months to get 5* and now *suddenly* you have energy to burn? That's not how it goes pal... People you see with lots of energy either bought it with IRL money or spent a LOT of GOD **** time on the game. 10 ce is okay and most people are angry that it will cost 10 ce EACH time they will die.

The discussion should be moved to the right Thread anyway

Go do a SL and think about how many ce you would burn reviving?

Have you even T3 clearance?

@Shamanala

I know that thread is there but it's so generalized that nothing will be agreed on if I post there. And put it this way. Up until you hit FSC you're either stuck at HoH or working through missions. Once you're done, your energy is only needed to get more energy and craft items that you don't need anymore. And you're right. The players with massive amounts that rev for the fun of rev blasting did pay money or play for years. And in their case, they have way more energy. But I'm not punishing them; they paid for it and deserve it. Instead, the goal is to find a proportion in which T1 players can afford but still feel the blow, while T3 players (yes, like me) pay more but still afford. It needs to be a line where the price makes the revive affordable, but makes you think twice about doing it.

Another way to answer your first question is to compare crowns. T1 people think 5k is pretty good. T3 people think that 30k is good (or at least F2Ps like me). 5k won't get you 100ce but 30k can get you a couple hundred.

In an SL I'd be prepared to rev about 5 times to be safe. That makes me bring 250ce. This is kinda expensive, even for an SL. let's take my suggested maximum: 40. 40 x 5 is 200. A slight difference but definitely cheaper.

The trick to not getting told to move your threads is to always place them in the wrong subcategory. If you do that long enough, the angry people telling you to move them will kill themselves.

Really, Fehzor?

Can we please just decide on a fair revive price?

The problem with your

The problem with your proposal is that the new revive system is based upon Sparks of Life.

Unless you make separate sparks for each tier, there will be the same revive price across the board. As I have said in other threads, 25-30 is fair because on the 1st energy revive with this system, you've used 2 on the old one. On the old system your 1st and 2nd revive total 30 energy. On the new system, the revive cost I proposed would make it 25-30 energy on the 2nd revive. Yes, that was redundant, but I found it necessary. Making it separate for each tier is just ridiculous and there's no point in doing that.

Honestly, the new revive system is fair. You get a free revive per level, where if you were soloing now and died once per level, it would be 10+20+40+80+160 in FSC. That's 310 energy, whereas on the new system one death per level is 0 energy. People seem to be forgetting that tidbit of information.
