Ignore! Case closed! (figured out how to share with google docs)

Figured it out!

I've mentioned the thought of a webcomic in a few threads, but I'm having second thoughts. It took me three days do finish the first actual page. By "actual page" I mean the first page that's an actual comic-panel-thing. There are other pages before that that are just rough scenery that are 50% text, explaining what knights are, what cradle is, etc etc. Now, I expect other pages to take less time since this first one had no space consumed by text bubbles at all and contained a fair bit of detail, but I'd still expect it to take up to 5 weeks per solid chapter given the real-life work I have to do.
On top of that, the story won't step up onto the pace of other fanfictions until the end of chapter 2/beginning of chapter 3. You guys get into the mess FAST when you write; I'm looking at you, Artiface. So it's going to take a while before it gets to the part where readers get sucked in. Or rather, the part where I hope readers get sucked in.
So; should I continue on this path? I'm not sure if I could describe it perfectly with just text, would it work with a mix of text and comic elements? I'm not trying to dodge working on this, I'm just not sure if slower releases would equal fewer readers.
If you need to know how good my art is in order to determine if its worth drawing it out, here's an old drawing of mine;

The comic will be black and white lineart just like that, but I've got much better at drawing knights than I was then. I don't have a scanner on me, but here's a... webcam photo... of pencil drawings... some of which are from the comic;

I'll use google docs for the actual thing, regardless of how I end up making it.

Not going to do an all at once release like an actual book, also not going to do a page by page release like popular webcomics. 1 chapter per release.
If I were to do a mix of book/comic, it would basically be a regular page of text, with one "box" from what would have initially been a whole "page" full of "boxes", plus a few full-comic pages.
Sorta like this image;

Mostly text, with an image taking up about 1/4th of the page.

It would look like that IF I didn't go full comic. Though I'd still put the mass-text in boxes (in colored comics, they would be in those yellow boxes) so that it has that comic-feel.
My question is "should I that, or should I go full comic?"

yes you should release a comic, why not? your drawing is very good and i bet you could come up with a good story. i'd love to read it :D

I've got a good chunk of story down, I'm just not sure if its worth it to postpone releasing it while I draw the scenes on paper. That being said, I'm not sure if certain parts would be as good without art. I'll definitely put something out, I'm just wondering what format would do best.

Yes, I still remember that name. :3
Make it. I don't care what format it's in. Make it. :D

Wholly crap I didn't think anyone remembered that.
Let it be known that I am hard at work!

I had this idea too- and I still want to do something like this, but sadly I have to improve my drawing.
From what I see, SK's content is quite befitting for such thing, and it would definitely be worth it. Yes, definitely make a webcomic so when the time comes I can steal content from you :P.

Alrighty! So I had 6 almost completely edited and proofread chapters, then surprise surprise, I get a virus. It was a mean sucker, would falsify internet certificates or something and prevent me from viewing secure webpages. Or something. Couldn't log into video game sites. I had to use recovery media and cleanslate my whole computer, BUT I SAVED THE CHAPTERS ON A USB, PUT THEM BACK IN AFTERWARDS, AND NOTHING BAD HAPPENED.
I figure if I put it on the interwebs a few chapters at a time, I'll be able to copy-paste my own work from the SK forums if I ever have to wipe my computer again. The problem? I've got nothing new drawn!
So here's what I'm gonna do. I'll keep it in chapter book format, with comic book pictures within the text as I said, but instead of picking out scenes to draw and releasing them with the chapter, I'm going to release the chapters without images and take requests (free) on what scenes to add in visually.
Sounds like a good idea?

Not "carping" things up?

Anyway, I've got it in microsoft word. 6 chapters, done. I don't want to copy paste onto the forums, how do I share it as a document? I tried using google docs, but Iunno how to share with it and I get errors whenever I try to install the newest google chrome of google drive.

Hmm...
Let's see. Do you need MSWord's formatting? Would you be fine with going into text form?
Let me check. It shouldn't be too hard to shard Google Docs stuff.

I uploaded it to google docs, but I'm not sure how to share from there. I could send it out to emails, but I'm not going to make a thread and say "Give me your email so I can give you access to my story! Nothing bad will happen!"
Edit;
Figured out how to make it public! Scanning an art sample to put in the thread with the actual chapters. I feel like it all looked better in microsoft word, feel free to ask for the actual file. I might take the requests I get and put the images into the actual pages, sharing a new comic-like version later as a presentation.
I'd read it. You could include both chat bubbles within the comic itself and narration at the bottom of each panel. Maybe hire an editor to refine the story for you.
You have a few other options:
1) Trim each comic so you can release something every week.
2) Release it all at once, when it's all done.
3) Release comics at your own pace, get feedback, and modify accordingly.
