I have recently been gifted the Crimson Hammer DLC on Steam,but the main account I use is not Steam,and I have already converted another account to my steam account. Is there any way to convert my other account to my Steam so i can use the DLC,or did my friend just waste six bucks?

Let me do it for him:
Go to SK via Steam, log off the Steam account and log on via a non-steam Account.
There will be a pop-up asking you if you want to convert the account to a Steam one. Agreeing to do so might delete your current steam account, tough (not sure).
If the pop-up message doesn't show up:
1. Press ESC
2. select "Prompts" above in the menu
3. Check "Offer to convert to Steam Account"
4. Log off
5. Log in on the non-steam Account
6. Agree to the pop-up

If I remember good, you can convert another account to Steam (But it can delete old). So try logging on your main account by steam client.
