Alright I got a plan! But first on wiki it says that Dark Fangs typically drop in tier 3 deconstruction zones but one was found in FSC so why not OCH? If we spam OCH instead of vana (which would be more fun to me) we might get a Dark Fang doesn't mean though that we all wont find one lets see who gets one first! Anyone think this would work?

Well, there are 9 darkfangs shields in existence. It's interesting to see a shield was once found in FSC, but i doubt that it would still appear. I know for sure that the latest was found in a decon zone, and is dropped by DF thwackers, or in boxes. So give er, people.

In all my sk life, which ammounts to 2 years and three months now, I saw countless people going on expeditions to get a Dark Fang, I've no knowledge of one single knight coming back with one. Let me spare you pain and deceptions, items are already rare drops, usefull items drops are even rarer, Dark Fang is a rare one ammongst the rarest drops of the rare ones...In other words, your chance of getting one is 0,000001%, your chances of disillusionment are 99,999999%. Of all the Dark Fangs owners I heard off they all got it by extreme luck and were not farming to get one, never had that experience, when you're actively looking for something you just don't get it?
Now, if you're stubborn enough to waste your time and energy on such expditions I can tell you, of the two people I know who got one, one of them got it in a T3 gremlin arena, in a box, I was with him, and another one in a decon zone. You should also know there is something fishy with item drops, and they might not be completely random at all, by that I mean it seems there are long periods where zero items would drop...Now good luck, but even good luck is not enough for what you wish for.

Don't listen to the haters and build those gremlin gates!
They go in Stratum 6, and you'll want to build them in the first few gates after the update. There should be relatively few knights depositing around then, so making the gates will be easy. The update will quadruple the drop rate of all item drops, so you'll not want to farm ahead of time. (TheUltraLord, 2013)
Also, the level "Iron Edge Arena: Wrench Warfare" is the most likely to contain it (Unity, 2013) while farming operation crimson hammer has not yielded any number of darkfang shields yet. Only a haze bomb. (Several Knights, 2011-2013)

Anyway. To figure where the DFS drops the most, we need S6-Gremlin Loot Box information - Which levels are likely to have more boxes than average? Which of these ALWAYS have boxes when running? Is there a pre-set amount of boxes/red boxes? If so, how much? Does going solo at all increase the chances of getting drops?

Iron Edge Arena: Wrench Warfare lol
Its gremlin/statusless for item drops, and it has like exactly 31 boxes. It has a good payout overall, so you don't have to worry about whether the predetermined payout is "good enough". I'm pretty sure you're not going to beat that.
The "best theory" that people came up with that is loosely support by evidence is that there are "level themes" per level; these are collectively added to get a set of drops, and additional items are added into the drop rotation per multiple. For instance, we can tell that beast and slime are a theme because we've seen the same set of item drops found across all beast/slime levels. We can tell that spur is local to treasure vaults because it hasn't been found anywhere else. We can tell that darkfang is considered gremlin because it has been found in all gremlin areas. It might also fire themed, but would only usually be found on gremlin levels for whatever reason as only one has been found in FSC despite people farming that literally 24/7. We can tell that statuses are themes; we see people finding emberbreak armor and firey items in FSC and on C42. We can tell that the game tallys up item drops because we see people find multiple genres of item drop on danger missions.
We don't know any of this for sure because there isn't enough evidence to support it. This means that we can't put it on the wiki. But there is enough to have a vague understanding and maybe find a rare shield. Maybe. Which is why it isn't on the wiki. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather get a cool shield than update a wiki that won't even let me edit it without creating an alt account for the express purpose of doing so.
And if you can find a better level, back it up with some evidence, and provide an argument for it, then I'll be more than willing to listen.

I just spoke with Kuger one of the few owners of Dark Fangs that still play...our best bet is what Fehzor said Iron Edge Arena a good payout and a better chance than OCH my plan is that we go as a team and at the last treasure room we go solo and 4 times the chance of getting one. Or we could go our separate ways to look for one.

Also anyone can go to a T3 decon zone, but not everyone bought OCH. The arcade is more farmable with alts.
