Yep! I think that some things need to change with them. This is in response to the Energy System Revamp update.

  • Make it so that you no longer need a Shadow Key to enter a Shadow Lair.
  • Make it so that Shadow Lair Elevators cost CE to use, depending on the Lair's tier.
    • Tier 1 elevators cost 50 energy (200 energy for a full run)
    • Tier 2 elevators cost 75 energy. (300 energy for a full run)
    • Tier 3 elevators cost 75 energy again. (450 energy for a full run)
  • Change Shadow Key to Dark Anti Matter.
    • Description: A small black rock which hums ominously when you touch it. It can be used to repel the Swarm as you progress into a Shadow Lair. With it, you can enter Shadow Lairs without needing to expend any energy!
    • To obtain: 1600 Crystal Energy OR from a Lockbox.
    • Type: Usable
    • Special Notes: This item can be traded until it is used. It lasts for 30 days.

This is mostly because it's currently really rare for someone to go in a SL unless he/she grinds for it, which is probably not a good thing. While you still will have to grind, it won't be as much, and each person will HAVE to pull their own weight.

@Waffleconecake

Ask that on the Energy System Revamp update dedicated thread, not here.

It's 150, 225, 375. You're counting an extra level. Unknown Passage is currently free. Or do you want to charge for it too?

So, the idea behind this is to make it a bit cheaper to run a T1 / T2 SL?

I suppose that's fair enough. The Dark Anti Matter is a bit pointless, though.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

The Dark Anti Matter is a bit pointless, though.

Not at all! If you like running SLs, you can do it whenever you want with this thing. The name came from smashing Anti Matter and Dark Matter together... :P

Yes, I'm counting the unknown passage...does anyone care?

I don't play any SLs, so + 0.5 for concept.

Facepalms...

Well, would you start playing SLs more? Especially if you got the key, er, stone, which would last much longer than a key. (Which is gone in a day)

A few questions: If this was in place, should SL mats be bound to you? Should the Dark Anti Matter last just a week? Or maybe even less time than that?

This, or at least a near carbon-copy of it, has been suggested many many many many times. I'm sure OOO knows what the community thinks about shadow keys and shadow lair passes, but I'm not sure that another thread with a different shade of gray is going to change their mind.

Would I like for shadow lairs to be more accessible? Yes, but I don't have the statistics only OOO has to know the effect it would have on OOO's profitability.

Ohhh, sorry. I missed the bit about it lasting for 30 days. I thought it was just a Shadow Key with a new name. *facepalm*

The DAM (I'm lovin' the name even more with that) probably shouldn't last a month. Otherwise when you get one, you'd farm the hell out of the SLs to get the mats, and that would make the "yay I got into the SL" less.. how should we say, exciting.

So, I'd say increase the price slightly to, say 2k CE, and make it last a week.

PS: The price increase is just so running one T3 SL is cheaper than getting an item to run it more than once; even if once is all you intend to do.
