Hey. This is something I thought I would get when I first played Spiral Knights with A PS3 controller VIA Motioninjoy,
The controller works fine, One thing disappoints me though: You only have 1 movement speed: Run.
When I set up my PS3 controller in the custom controls, I Was hoping tilting the left control stick slightly would make me walk,
Instead, the slightest tilt makes you move full speed.
What I hope to see in the next update is: Joystick movement, The more you tilt the control stick, The faster you move,
Until you are moving full speed like you're holding the left mouse button. If moving slow, use "Stun"'s walking animation,
If moving fast enough, switch to the normal running animation. When actually stunned, You can only move at A certain walking speed.

I Hope to see this done when the Battle Sprites update is released. Thanks for taking your time to read this.

nope.

it's unfair to the keyboard users, and you can shiled to move slower.

I don't think it's unfair, I don't think it's needed at all.

Alas, I can't find a reason not to add it either.

I REALLY don't want this kind of analogue movement. It'd be fatal to gamepad users in any cramped situation, notably LD.

@Krakob

Options fix everything.

The one issue I want fixed

The one issue I want fixed with the gamepad is the direction facing, now this MIGHT be down to me using an old style usb controller, so correct this if I'm wrong but I found my character could only face in the 8 basic directions, so I couldn't really do much in the way of accurate shooting.

That's the only issue I'd want changed tbh, but again this is only if it's not my own controller that's the issue

Reply to Krakob (And advantage idea to walking)

I Agree with Klipik-Forum, You can have an option that only lets you run,
Turning off this option would allow this full joystick movement, with the walking and stuff,

Also, Thunder, If it's unfair to keyboard users,
You can hold down any assigned button on the keyboard to walk. Release the button and you'll run again.
And, I Came up with an idea for an advantage to walking: When walking, your footsteps are quieter,
If A group of enemies spawn, stay out of their eyesight, they won't notice you since your footsteps were quiet and can't directly see you,
When an enemy turns his back from you while you're still unnoticed, You can walk up behind an enemy and supposedly perform A charge attack on them while they won't notice you preparing to do so. However, If another enemy turns back and sees you, It'll get the attention of other enemies and they will try to kill you like normal.

Downside: This won't work on any type of Beast or Gremlin, they have more sensitive ears and can easily hear you walking behind them.

@Klipik
I agree. In that case it'd be okay but there's no real point in implementing this. It shouldn't be very hard though, as there already are movement speed factors that come in the form of stun, shields, and MSI/MSD. I'll honestly say OOO aren't the best at implementing options, though...

@Zack
The AI isn't that sophisticated. It'd be a lot of rewriting and probably no priority of OOO.

But it's basically just limited stealth, right?
