How actually does it work, I mean, why do the prices CE raise, also, how is done the price value of the items, also the ones that have UV, etc ?. There's someone that can explain that to me please ? ^^

Sorry if I did post this in the wrong place.

Honk honk. Make way for the dead bunny.

When something like a promo happens, the CE price goes down, because people with lots of CE want to get rid of it fast. However, when there's not a lot of CE in the economy, people take advantage, and make their prices go up, so desperate people who need CE buy anyway. But when there's too much crowns in the market, people make the CE price go up, because so many people are buying and can spare the money. At least, that's how I get how it works. Hope it helped. If I got anything wrong, anyone is welcome to correct me. :p

im confused. so now - I don't

im confused. so now - I don't need CE to take elevator. I don't need CE to revive (cos I have spark of life). so CE is just use for crafting ? but don't they have crafting orbs too ? so the utility of CE as a currency should go down ? but yet price of CE is going up ? after this update, can someone list for me what will CE be use for ? eg. 50 ce revive ? crafting purposes ?

Sparks of Life and Orbs of Alchemy won't drop all the time, so people will still need CE for crafting/reviving when they haven't picked up any of the appropriate items.

Supply increase, price decrease, vice versa.

Here's how I see it. People don't worry about energy, so either they be adventurous and arcade, or decide to be rich and FSC with their time. Because time is the new limit they face. With the removal of mist, CE demand increases. But, you don't need CE. Everything you can get with CE can also be dropped by enemies. Okay, so I want to maximize the chances of these things dropping so I don't need to farm for CE. Where can I get the best chances? The place wih the most monsters; coincidentally (or not) this happens to be FSC. And therefore, not much changes. The only reason to actually need CE is to revive, and if you're buying CE to revive, you're most likely losing more crowns than you're gaining. Either that or you're embarking on a Shadow Lair which is a whole other story.

What I truly worry about is loadout switching and alt dropping. Without the elevator cost, you can head back to haven and switch loadouts any time you want. Alt dropping is, say, you want to specifically farm the second depth of FSC because of the highest crown payout (I'm just guessing). You head there with an alt, then do the run. Once you're done, kick the alt and head back to haven, then join the alt and repeat. Actually no. Kick the alt, then do the run. You can do this to farm Vana tokens too.

you can head back to haven and switch loadouts any time you want.

This has always been possible with an elevator pass. You still give up all your heat.

Once you're done, kick the alt and head back to haven, then join the alt and repeat

Kicking restricts the party for the rest of that floor.

Thanks for the insight. I guess right now there are possible reasons why ce could go up (eg no more mist energy, so ppl need to rely on CE when there are no orbs / sparks) or down (CE may not serve as many purposes as it once did). I guess my dilemma, like many others, would be wondering if we should be hoarding currency in crowns or ce. I have always hoarded currency in ce, but now im really not so sure. guess we will all have to watch and wait. :)

@Batabii

It's from a comic I read once, about this dead bunny who wants to love someone, but no one loves him. Eventually, he falls in love with a blind turtle who can't see he's dead. It was really cute. :D

Ok, so what does that have anything to do with that post, this topic, or even this forum in its entirety? And why did you post it AGAIN when everyone saw it the first time?

Blank and clean.

One of the major reasons I like these forums is because it doesn't have those obnoxious signatures.

I just needed to clarify -

I just needed to clarify - are we now saying that it is hypothetically possible to not need CE anymore ?

Wait a minute--

...I have 400 CE I can sell. Should I do it in anticipation of more to be obtained via the lowered CE prices due to lower demand after the update? (I'll do it right before the update happens in case I need the energy beforehand for some reason)

It doesn't make sense to remove the #1 reason for new players to quit the game within the first couple of hours?

Elevator and crafting fees are definitely the biggest annoyance for new players. Although all T3 players have learned to cope with it (Face it, all other players quit), removing these systems will allow OOO to attract a bigger audience.

Well, keys, unbind and trinket slots are still CE-Only (maybe lockdown revives too, though that one is just my speculation and as far as I know there's no official info regarding it) so there should still be some demand although not the same as we have now.
Oh, and question for you guys, what do you think; Will the CE prices rise because of more crowns into the economy? Will it fall because of CE having less uses? Or will one thing balance the other and remain the same?

even when all the factors

even when all the factors balanced out, it still does not make sense for ce price to escalate the way it did. comments on the forum have shown that it was probably more a pump-and-dump phenomenon that contributed to recent rise in ce. the market is expected to react once again, when ppl have understood how this recent update will change the play mechanics. Interestingly, I don't think 000 has said everything there is to say about the upcoming changes, from the comments I am seeing in the forum, and it is likely that the market will continue to respond accordingly. so, rationalize, strategize, and place your bets accordingly, cos soon, the cradle as we know it, will change dramatically.

what u say is very true. perhaps their data collection have shown that ppl tend to pay more when there are promotions, and maybe their data also shows that ppl who spend more time on this game, also are more incline to spend on this game. hence, it just makes more sense that the way to get ppl to spend is to keep knights playing, rather than lose them when they have barely begin.

possibly, the initial rationale is that ppl will love this game so much that they will willingly pay more at the beginning, so they can play beyond the 100 mist. data may have shown that ppl are more likely to quit, rather than pay. hence, this update make sense, and is a win-win for all.
