Can anyone help me figure out the numeric value needed on my defense UVs?

Since Vog Cub Coat/Cap is going to be my one and only armor set, I want to get some good UV's on them to make them viable in other scenarios (I don't intend to do PvP). The plan was to have both pieces with Shadow/Piercing Defense Very High or better so that I'd have a strong defense against all damage types, and possibly Shock resistance as well.

Assuming I had both Piercing and Shadow on both pieces of equipment, how much of a numerical value would I need for the Piercing/Shadow UVs to be the equivilent of a 5* armor in terms of total defensive score? And how much would I expect to pay for such an item?

Max (it jumps straight from

Max (it jumps straight from High to Max for armors) on a 5* armor is 4 bars if I remember correctly. Two Max would give you 8 bars, which is effectively about the same as ONE 5* armor piece, or a full set of 3* armor.

Personally I have always found it more useful to stack UVs with the defense the armor provides, excluding status resist UVs. More Elemental/Normal defense on Vog is preferable to sub-par Shadow/Piercing defense in my book. But that is just me. As for price, a triple max Shadow/Piercing/Shock set is going to set you back a very large amount.

Okay, forget shock, let's

Okay, forget shock, let's just say I wanted a Vog Cub Cap/Coat with Max Piercing/Shadow on both. Or High. How much could I expect to pay for a Wolver Coat/Cap (the 2* version) with both UVs at max?

It's hard to tell considering

It's hard to tell considering their rarity, but I wouldn't expect anything short of 30k CE per piece. Remember that with the upcoming absence of mist, alt crafting will be obsolete which will make good UVs much harder to come by. Expect massive price increases on good UVs after the update.

wiki page "Abilities"

Read the wiki page "Abilities", to learn about how UVs compare to the standard protection levels of armor. (This page is really the best-kept secret on the wiki, I think.)

I don't know how much the item is worth --- you need to ask in the Bazaar forum. In fact, you already have, in this thread. You have several threads about this topic. For example, in this thread I suggest that you should skip piercing protection.

Please don't spawn multiple threads on a single topic. Just make one thread.

It'll cost so much you should really consider simply having multiple sets.
Cheaper, obviously easier to find, and may protect agaisnt their respective types better than UVs on a Vog.
(UVs never match natural defense)
