If you're giving all your things away, try posting in Treasure Vault or Bazaar. If you want to tell your friends/guild you're leaving, use guild chat, tell or compose letters and send them. You don't need to pollute a forum you never use to tell people who don't come here you're quitting. CYA. Have a nice life.
Admin please don't allow the trashing of GC with this next update.
Quitters, go quit. Get out. Who cares. Admin, please don't put those you made quit in CG or GD. Just delete them. What did those of us in GC and GD, who are trying to make it a fun and active place, do to deserve them?

theres a ton of posts and threads containing junk, but quitting threads are always about friendships
i mightve never seen the point in quitting threads from my perspective, but theyre worth a read
& imho there are already way too many guidelines for forums narrowing things down to a tiny drop of water, some of them being understandable and others complete trash, and of course neither of them in complete control
my vote goes to posts containing reason and a friendly spirit

Threads containing giveaways and contests belong in Treasure Vault and Bazaar not GC. If they generally don't like the game any more and wish to discuss the game in general...it doesn't belong in GC.

Yes, Gremlin Chatter is being Spammed with threads that don't belong there and it's all about me.
Burg, please do so. Everyone go for it. Spam these forums up with improperly placed threads intentionally and make admin have to come in and clean it up. That will help quiet a bit actually.
I just checked the gremlin chatter section: 2 topics about leaving in the first page and 2 on the second, none of the third. You are freaking out over this? Seriously?
Wait and see what happens as dozens of these get made over the next few days when the update rolls out. Admin like to dump these trash quitter threads into GC instead of Bazaar, Treasure Vault and Graveyard where they belong. It's starting early. The update isn't even it here yet and people are quitting and admin is dumping there.

I still say you are freaking out over this. Every big update makes some people quit, get used to it. They arent being rude about it, either, they are usually just saying good bye because telling your entire guild ingame you are leaving is a chore and a half, specially if the guild is big enough that not everyone is at the same time: mailing many people the same thing is quite grating and guild chat doesnt usually cut it.
And with this major update they should anticipate a major quit rate. They need a sub-forum for those saying their goodbyes and a neat, concise place for those to go looking for goodbyes, goodbye giveaways. Gremlin Chatter is not a trash can and it's time they stop using it for one and stop disrespecting Gremlin Chatter altogether.

Gremlin Chatter is a trash can though. That's the point of off-topic forum sections.
Off topic does not equal a trash can nor does it merit the threads that are generally discussing the game. Things like; what one likes or doesn't like about the game and why or why not one may stay or go. They don't belong in GC. They belong in GD. Those with giveaways and contests go into those sub-forums. Admin not liking the negative GD threads in GD doesn't make them belong in GC. I'm leaving SK, boo hoo, because SK or OOO is hardly off-topic from SK and OOO.
Thanks for encouraging that disrespect of GC and to those of us who us it, admin/OOO. Something needs to be done there.

What if people make these "quitting" threads only to create a new alt, not tell anyone about it, and go on playing the game not having to worry about spam?
Also they could have been using a different e-mail to avoid the "forum name change" thing.
Guild members do this a lot too. (At least the few i've been in)
There is someone here who has been doing that. I'm not sure but I think they've been here since the beta days. They play up a character, say good bye and then start a new. But there's always little leads letting you know they stepped over, things they posted and said before they left, the name they changes too.

Yes, I completely agree. Vanity threads really irritate me. But you left out one thing: Attention seekers and charitable givers should absolutely not flood General Discussion either. Flooding GD is worse than flooding GC.
