I'm refusing to get a Battle Sprite. Not until I can get another at least. They said we would be able to, so I'm not getting one until that option is actually implemented. No sense in regreting a choice I can't change. Not sure why we can't now, really. Unless they plan on making it some sort of DLC to get more than one.

That's actually a valid point. I'm still waiting for OCH to be tradeable for non-Steam users. We know how that went.

Well, I don't see anyone

Well, I don't see anyone twisting your arm saying you have to get one at the moment.

So congratulations on taking a stand?

I have about the same

I have about the same reaction as Retequizzle. But on a related note, wheres our ability to name sprites? I remember distinctly that Nick said we could name them all Sepheroth. Was it too hard to implement in the time frame an will be added later, or was it just dropped? Not that major, but yeah.

You just right click on it in

You just right click on it in your inventory and you'll have the option to rename it...

Open up your inventory, find

Open up your inventory, find the "Battle Sprite" listing, which should be at the very top.

Click on your sprite.

Tadaaaaaaaaaaaa.

The ability to rename is

The ability to rename is already implemented. My Drakon is currently named Flame Lord Smaug. He does a devastating 3 damage at the moment. You can rename your battle sprite at the pet screen.

You must have missed the

You must have missed the turning point in the story. OOO has made these new crafting rules so that we can try other gear more freely, yet they restrict the Battle Sprites. It seems like complete opposites there.

Disregard my comment then...

Oh. Well, I only played for 30-ish minutes before going to bed at 11, and I assumed you would be given the option when you got it. Well, time to go name my Maskwraith

Or maybe they don't want

Or maybe they don't want everyone to be able to use every single thing at once and find out that people burnt through content that they spent months working on in a matter of hours or days. Because, y'know, they actually care enough to want to have the experience fleshed out in a way that makes it more like a good movie than a quick and flashy commercial.

Battle sprites are totally

Battle sprites are totally worthless anyway. Their abilities do way too little on cooldowns that are way too long to be effective at anything, and until you get them leveled they basically do absolutely nothing on a long cooldown, even in T1 areas. Then you consider how long it takes to even level them...
If they could at least grab loot for you they might have some use, but no.

Pistol is best weapon in TF2

@Bunny: You haven't seen anyone with a Drakon Fireshield, have you? Sprites don't start very strong, but they'll get much, much stronger.

Keep in mind, you don't have to feed the Sprites food to heat them. You can toss your sprite a Reaper Rib or, if you want to waste money, a Maiden's Tear. Higher star ingredients feed the Sprite more. You only need the specific Sprite food to level them up.

I'd like to know for sure that we can get more sprites, too, but I also want a sprite myself. Which is why Bunsen the Drakon is now floating around doing 7 damage with fireballs.

this update was pretty

this update was pretty massive, they probably tried to add more as we could see from the test server the number of planned battle sprites

i think they told us from the start we can only pick 1 starter battle sprite
