Quills EVERYWHERE
Vengeful quills, spreading the things around sound more useful, thou if the explosion from the Virulent quills can poison the enemies caught in the blast, that could be neat as well.
Also, both variations should work excellent with gunners.
I can see Vengeful Quills being more suitable for a bomber who can get damage ticks on multiple mobs at once and this get the most use out of the chaining quills.
Being more of a sword user myself, I'd probably go with Virulent Quills, given that it's more of a fire-and-forget ability that doesn't have you chasing down the next target in the chain.
