A guy told me that he thought Drakon was 100% useless. He said Drakon had no uses at all, and getting him is a really bad choice to make.

He said that because Drakon doesn't buff or debuff. What do you think?

He said:

Seraphynx - Most Useful
Maskeraith - Second Most Useful
Drakon - COMPLETELY USELESS

I don't mind his opinion about what's most useful or not, but considering Drakon 100% useless is a little overboard.

He said "I'm a Vanguard. I know this stuff.". You could know a lot about battle sprites even if you don't have a low rank, and it's not like they were here for a long time.

Isn't increased damage and attack speed a buff? Your friend hasn't read about the ultimate abilities.

You and your friend should read it and get your facts straight.

"Frenzied Firestorm
For every monster caught in the blaze, you and your party have a chance of receiving an attack power and speed bonus."

"Flame Barrier
Surround yourself with a barrier of flames that enhances your defenses while burning nearby targets."

"Backfire Barrier
Gain a brief movement speed boost upon executing flame barrier."

The sprites in general seem pretty balanced against another to me. Some of the individual abilities are more dubious than others, sure, but you really should just go for whichever sprite you think suits your playstyle and/or looks the coolest/cutest to you.

Someone conceited enough to spout that nonsense in the middle of a discussion isn't worth listening to. Arrogance gets you nowhere in a discussion especially if one isn't willing to listen to conflicting opinion and just serves to make you look like an idiot if/when you're wrong, especially in this case because they didn't do their research.

Consensus is that it's not the Drakon that is useless. All sprites seem to do absurdly low damage at lower levels. This is usually not an issue except the Drakon is perceived to be a heavy hitter.

...which i have no idea if it is or not because I picked Sera. For heals and shields.

Let me see, oh found it. The problem is that things are overrated. Remember the Haze bomb uv thing because everyone was like "omg need to get a uv". Well, Drakon is fire styled, so many people thought that it's useless against vana, since every enemy has fire resistance here. There isn't a FIRE DAMAGE, only elementar, normal,piercing and shadow.

My opinion about the Drakon is that it's a very useful sprite, but i picked Seraphynx for the heals.

won't you just wait a bit until you reach level 50 or so to declare if a sprite is useless or not? I will. I'll wait a couple of weeks, grinding for crimsonite cause my drakon drained it all.

Not even the cat sprite knows at start the famed shield, nor even the heart attack - the tutorial one is at lv15. So don't worry, eventually we will all get our promised abilities.

Anyways, on the topic, Drakon is NOT useless. In the tutorial I like to just spam the fire bolt thingy and murder everyone. I only chose Wraith because poison is a pretty useful status against monsters even without healers, and I want a free plague needle right over my shoulder.

Battle sprites review

I'd say drakon is by far the most useless out of all, but that's just my opinion.

Maskerwraith:
Quills: A nice offensive attack. Very good to poison vanaduke.
Cloak: Extremely useful to get you out of trouble.
I don't understand the defense bonus at all though..if you're invisible you're not getting hit.
Hexing Haze: I don't have this yet, but a friend does, and holy crap it looks AMAZING and it does the most damage of all sprite's abilities.

Seraphynx:
Laser: seems somewhat lame, but it has it's uses and if it's paired with a vortex it's supposed to be fairly good.
Heart Attack: This is the one attack that makes me wonder if I shouldn't have taken Sera.
It works quite well. Once again, charge up a vortex, hex all the enemies in it and you'll be full health in no time.
Shield: It doesn't seem worth it if it's only for like 3-5 seconds, but I haven't seen it yet so I can't give a full report.

Drakon:
Fireball: Is terrible imo. Not nearly enough damage for the trouble.
I could charge up a brandish in the time it does to do this attack and the brandish outdamages it by an absurd amount.
Defense orbs: The damage the orbs do is weak, and do you shouldn't really need a defense bonus in this game..
Fire mist: Again I haven't seen this, but from what I understand it's like a mini ash of agni except with strong fire. It'd be quite useful if most people didn't farm FSC. But still I'd say that Hexing Haze is far superior.

It's just my opinion, but I'd say drakon is by far the most useless sprite.
I ended up choosing Maskwraith.

Drakon can stun each 16-18 seconds...

...and can obliterate a pack of zombol when his firestorm is fully upgraded. He's a late destroyer...

Also Maskeraith is the first most useful one. And if you wonder why then you got him all wrong :D

Seraphynx is a healer support. Too many Sera isn't great either... Sera + Mask = best combo ever. Can't wait to get my aura in 5 lvls ^ ^

Drakon is still useful but I

Drakon is still useful but I feel he was over nerfed during the test server phase. They toned his damage down to much because of the "chance" he could set enemies on fire.
