Haunted Haze, just because
Haunted Haze, just because getting to lead the Army of Darkness all over again sounds awesome. Now where did I leave my boomstick again?

Haunted Haze, no freaking contest: Not only is the effect pretty unique and cool but it's also less likely to screw you over. Imagine hazing quicksilvers and getting shock or curse on zombies.
Unless Chaotic Haze skips the status the enemies are immune or receive a beneficial effect from it, Haunted Haze is simply better. Or it had like a ridiculous chance to curse, like 70%...
I'm gonna go with haunted haze. Spawning my own undead army to defeat my enemies sounds cooler.
Statuses are pretty stale imo. That's what my brandishes are for.
