Imagine this;

Your dog wakes you up to take him for a walk. You put his leash on, grab your keys, and walk outside.

Then you see your neighbors all at their front steps with their own dog.

It's just weird.

Pets shouldn't be an everyone-has-one thing. Not that it shouldn't be an option, but there should be other paths aside from the "decide not to use a pet and be less effective overall" path. Most MMOish things I play that have pets don't make them so abundant. You'll be in a group, someone will take out their critter and you'll go "Cool! Someone with a pet!". Though other people will have their own gimmicks. Some guy will have a big magic staff, some guy will have a jetpack, who knows.

Anyone else feel kinda weird about this?

Not really

Most likely, people don't know they can unequip the Sprite and just have it out at all times. They are also akin to Mags in PSO, so if you are a fan of this game - which SK borrows a lot - you would be already used to their presence.

Maybe it would be better off if the default option would be hiding the Battle Sprite when not in field areas. Though BSs are here to stay and also are a symbol of the "now even more f2p" SK.

What ever OOO comes out with next ought to be something that can go in place of battle sprites.
