I think spiral knights is a fun game but it would be even better if there was a first person mod that you can go in. I was playing with my friend when we were at the level with the dust zombies and I told him it would be cool it we can kill these dust zombies or shoot a the plasma guns (or whatever its call) in a first person view. It would be awesome

This is a top-down, old-style game. It would take years of reworking stuff to make it work in first person unless you make it very limited, but then it would still cause many issues. It's not really possible, I'm afraid.

no, becuase it's not 3d. practically all the mods of the stages are 2d. if you turn the camera, you'll see practically nothing.

They're rendered as 3D models, but the actual game isn't 3D. There are height modifiers to make some spots
appear more elevated, but nothing is ever actually up in the air. For example, the zombies don't really actually lift
off of the ground; it's just an animation. Same goes for projectiles and flying mobs, which is why no mobs can go
over walls under normal circumstances.

Well you don't necessarily make it out of waffle cones, the waffle cones are the most predominate thing of the cake. Just like how you call a apple pie an apple pie, not a "bready crust rapped around apples, jam, and sugar".
You make one by first picking a top and bottom layers of the cake is ice cream. Middle layer is normal cake with smashed waffle cone in it. The "crust" of the cake is made out of the same stuff as the middle layer. Add any frosting and Viola, you have a waffleconecake.
Oh I almost forgot, you need to have 3 table spoons of "Jerk" added to it for the right flavor :)

I can't look out my window mate, sorry. The blinds are down. I feel some of those insults are in ill reason. I do in fact, "spit" curses but i doubt my blood is "vile" I am a rather healthy person. So what was this thread about? Oh. Right. First person. Oh no.
There are two main reasons that this either cannot or should not happen. Reason 1: modeling. Environments in spiral knights are 3d models, but they only have textures in the areas visible from the current camera angle. If you were to spin the camera around, you would see a whole lot of nothing.
Reason 2: style. Spiral Knights is an isometric dungeon crawler pseudo-MMO ARPG, similar to the Diablo or Torchlight series. Remaking the game in first person would change the entire feel of the game, and completely change the target audience. Not to mention, precise melee-based combat is extremely inaccurate, unintuitive, and difficult from a first person perspective. Maybe when we invent working, affordable virtual reality systems, Spiral Knights 2 can be first person. But not now.

Things in Spriral Knights only look good due to clever camera angles. Take for example, the mini jelly in the RJP. It looks 3D, but it is actually just a sprite. And it would look horrible and messed up and glitched in first person.
