Spark of Life and the old revival system? Which do you prefer?

I'm a little confused about the two systems. What are the pros and cons of each? Which is better?

Edit: I'm not new, but I haven't played for months.

I like the Spark of Life

I like the Spark of Life system itself, though, they drop way too common. I've got 30 (excluding the missions rewards, with those it's over 80) spare even with the every now and then use and I play Tier 3 elite exclusively. Technically you could farm them on easier levels to use them on harder levels but honestly, even if they don't drop for you, you can just buy a pack of 10 for 200 energy.

Wait............ I just looked on the wiki and it says you even get an emergency revive.

Gone a long long while

I'd prefer a combination of the old an new. The new system basically removes any reason to play with a group, and that's not even including the new loot system. Given, this is my take from the patch notes and hearsay, so I'll update when I get a chance to play.

the new system means that when people croak you just leave em to rez unless youre really generous as opposed to being a teammate. i dont like it much at all.

I've got over a hundred sparks and I haven't touched the supply depot since the update.

If someone in my party falls, I get them right back up again because when am I ever going to run out of these things.

give us back our rev system

As Maeko said, they are no reason to play in a group. And sometimes it us much harder when uyou are with teamates because of the power up of the monsters. Then, when you don't succeed in a mission, you just have to lower the difficulty. You don't need anymore to call a friend ... and that's sad :(
Also, when a friend die, you know he ll have to pay to rev, so he might be quite angry. And he is as more angry as you are fighting next to his body without being able to rev him ... This is quite a frustration i find ...
I don't understand why they changed the old system : it was fait and good. And so funny sometime when the last alive player have to find a heart to rev the others. My most memorable moment are those situations, laughing on mumble or Skype ... :(
It is sad....

The sparks of life are okay,

The sparks of life are okay, it's just that you can't revive people using health anymore that gets me.
That was not a good decision in my opinion.

Hmm

I like the spark system better, it helps buffer your bad or hard days with the sparks from the easy and nice days. The one thing I dislike is how you can just suicide right before an elevator to get a free hp refill for the next floor, if you haven't used an emergency rev yet. I could see sparks being spent on SLs to make them practically free except for the key itself.

I prefer the way you are revived now, I must say though the Sparks of lives are much more handy for when you do everything on Elite difficulty ;) I actually sometimes struggle now, at last a challenge! Sometimes I walk over dead people and try and revive them though :P Also it's basically free revives over no bonus heat from other players, and I prefer Sparks. :D

Are you often playing alone ? Because, i agree, when you are alon the new system is much better, but when you are in a full party, it sucks ...

I liked the old one better because it made the game harder. Death was actually painful either to your party members, or to your pocket. Rescuing dead party members, clinging to your last sliver of life to res them was really fun too.
Now I have like 100 sparks of life. And I hardly ever use any as the emergency revive takes care of most accidental deaths. So basically I'm invincible, I cannot "lose the game" anymore. Meh.
Not that the game is particularly challenging anymore. They nerfed everything so much. Even the supposed new hard mode is easy.

But yea, what he said. Total hp of a group is actually quite a bit higher now. Munching down a capsule to dodge hordes of enemies to revive the downed teammates while holding onto the health you got. There was teamwork involved.

Now its like

"Spiral Knights, where you can play alone, together!"

I like how some take advantage saying they have 0 sparks. But I guess you could say the same thing about the old mist/CE revs. Thats my negative.

Positives: makes ppl play causiously.
