This is the support response i received about my broken sprite.
Cronus - Yesterday at 9:24am:
Greetings, It looks like it's possible that you were having quite a bit of lag at the time which was not allowing the actions to go through. Looking through your bug report seems to support this. I'll pass this along to the developers, however you should look into ways of reducing the lag on your end. Here are a few things you'll want to consider when it comes to your computer's performance with Spiral Knights: - In-game you can see an icon with bars in the upper right corner. This indicator shows your network connection strength. If there aren't many bars, you might have some problems with lag. - You’ll want to make sure no other programs are running in the background. Running other programs may cause your computer to respond slowly. - Problems often arise from a wireless connection.
While your connection may appear to work fine for loading web pages, it may cause issues while playing the game because the Spiral Knights game server needs to be in constant contact with your computer. You'll want to consider plugging directly into your connection. - When you play Spiral Knights, data from your computer needs to move along an internet path to & from the game server. If there is an issue along that path that stops or slows traffic, such as a broken router, the flow of information is interrupted. Unfortunately, there’s really not much you or we can do about it and you will have to wait until the issue is resolved or traffic is rerouted. - Try lowering the graphic quality you're using. Just click on the Main Menu button in the upper left of your screen and select options, or hit ESC. - A good site to test the stability of your connection is Pingtest.net. * Any packet loss is a cause for concern and can affect many internet applications. * High ping is what causes a delay in actions. * Jitter is the fluctuation of ping. If this value is high it is responsible for the "rubber band" effect where a character will lurch forward in sudden spurts. Low jitter (less than ~10ms) is very important to a smooth game play experience.
You can find some more information about lag and what could be causing it here: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Performance_issues_FAQ#Lagging_Gameplay If you think you're experiencing higher than normal lag, and have looked into things on your end; I'd suggest sending in a bug report. You can do that by pressing the F2 key on your keyboard and typing in a brief description of the problem.

Although i am thankful to actually get a reply, i think this is rubbish. SK has always worked fine for me except for the standard lag issues that pretty much every player i know has run into. Maybe if there were only a few people having issues with their sprites not working i could understand OOOs brushing this issue to the side but the fact is, every second player is having issues.
I totally understand what causes lag and because i am in Australia i am pretty damn used to it. I only play SK because the lag is bearable compared to other games. Introducing a major game changing update that is only accessible to 50% of players, imo is pretty crappy. I think it is more likely that this update was released before it had been tested for long enough.
So has anyone else received a support response that wasn't just cut & pasted ? Maybe something with a little bit of hope of this issue actually being looked into ?
A support ticket is not a bug. It's kind of the opposite, really.
