What is the logic behind the Emergency Revive?

Everything in this game has an explanation on how it happens- The Colliseum is there so monsters can watch Spiral Knights fight, Crystal Energy is a rare formation caused by condensing mist, Mist itself being produced by the core. The only thing I know of not being explained is the species of the Spiral Knights (By the way, I still want to know this). But what is the explanation behind the Emergency Revive?

Does the lift just inject you with energy allowing you to revive yourself? Why don't the knights figure out why it does this and harness it for infinite free revives?

Does your Battle Sprite revive you? 1. Why doesn't it do this every time you die, and 2. Why does it happen to people without them?

Magic? What magic? What magical element brings zombies and the Kat tribe back to life infinitely, but only brings the Knights back once?

Is it your armor? Does your armor decide to bring you back once per level? Why is it designed to only bring you back once? Who designed all this armor anyways?

Is it leftover unstable energy from the Sparks of Life? So each Spark of Life is worth two, and we should also be harnessing this power for some purpose?

Do your enemies have mercy on you and revive you just so you have another chance at killing them? No, thats just stupid.

Is it Mist Energy? No, because Mist is always being produced by the core, and we can only revive once per level.

Is it some technology that the knights have that prevent them from wasting resources? Why cant we do this infinitely? If we can hold undefined units of crystal energy, why cant we hold more than one emergency revive?

Sorry for nitpicking, but I feel this needs to be explained. DX

Well obviously, the energy used to revive you is stored in your mist tank, which now has no other use. The tank only has the capacity to revive you once before recharging during elevator trips.

Magic?

Spiral energy, obviously!

With the discovery of the

With the discovery of the Sparks of Life, Alchemy Orbs, and Fire Crystals the Mist Tanks became mostly useless. As such the Mist Tanks have been modified and recommissioned. The Mist gathering components have been removed and replaced with a rechargeable Spark of Life. The Spark gathers kinetic energy caused by the friction of the elevator going down a floor. Thus providing with a single free revive per floor. The Mist gathering components that were removed were slightly modified and directly attached to the elevators to make them run without the use of Energy from the knights.

@Zeddy
A run through your average level takes longer than an elevator ride, why doesnt it recharge then?

@Burq
Oooh... But not justified.

@Gwen
How does mist translate to kinetic energy?

@Demon
Not today.

In physics, the kinetic energy of an object is the energy which it possesses due to its motion. It is defined as the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to its stated velocity. Having gained this energy during its acceleration, the body maintains this kinetic energy unless its speed changes. The same amount of work is done by the body in decelerating from its current speed to a state of rest.
In classical mechanics, the kinetic energy of a non-rotating object of mass m traveling at a speed v is ½ mv². In relativistic mechanics, this is only a good approximation when v is much less than the speed of light.

...I know. I was asking what mist had to do with kinetic energy.

My guess is

These free revives are from the elevators that you walk, since it only charges after the elevator goes down to the next floor as because these elevators where designed by gremlins to charge up their weapons in case of an invasion. so they wanted to be ready every time they went down the floor, your gun, utilizes it, but we can't see it because it's loading, that's why the load screen is there, with bombs too.

So, if its all kinetic friction, why dont the knights HARNESS this for infinite free revives?

It's a game set on a fictional artificial planet with furry creatures as its caretakers, denizens of the underworld who throw office furniture as a primary method of attack and all mineral outcrops which break with 3 hits regardless of the damage your weapon does. Stop trying to apply logic to it.

"So, if its all kinetic friction, why dont the knights HARNESS this for infinite free revives?"

Because the rechargeable Spark of Life within your "mist tank" can only hold enough energy for a single revive. Otherwise they EXPLODE, sending squishy knight entrails everywhere! You have any idea how long it takes Gremlins to clean knight goo out of the Clockworks?

I imagine to be something along the lines of-

Some sort of defibrillator, I guess. That would also charge off of mist I guess- you can't really pull the "infinite" logic there, since as the knight mist bar in the past (r.i.p.) refilled slowly, pretty sure there's been some lore as to "mist is slow to absorb" which would explain why it takes a whole floor to get it up and working again, I guess. But just some sort of med kid basically.
Who knows though. There's sure not logic as to how you have infinite bullets or such. I mean I suppose it could just be energy is absorbed for firing- (some tough energy in that callahan.) but that'd be no more explained than an emergency revive.
Probs could think of better examples but uh, shrug.

Can I sit down? The sky keeps swirling around.

All mist generated by the core is being used to power elevators.

Your mist tank now houses a single spark of life.

Your knight replaces/recharges the tank during an elevator ride.

This was seen by the Knights to be an acceptable tradeoff.

That's all I care to speculate, really. <_<
