Is there a difference between swords' charge time? I'm asking since I recently got a Gran Faust, and its charge time seems to be nearly twice as long as the charge time of my Cold Iron Carver. Both swords are lvl5+ so they both gained the "Charge Time Reduction: Ultra" buff.
Sword Charge time
The carver is the same class as the calibur, so quite light. I just find the charge attack of the Gran Faust quite useless atm, since it really takes ages to charge. Compared to the carver, you deal more dps with charged attacks than with normal hits. The faust deals a lot less dps with a charged attack. (dps taken as in: how much damage can I do in e.g. 10 seconds of consistently perfoming the attack, not as in how much does 1 combo do)
There you go.
The charge time goes in the order of cutter>caliber>heavy.
I think guns have a bit more charge time than all melees though.
I don't have any boosts and my Dread Striker charges really quick, a lot quicker than my other swords. Magus seems to have a solid point there, charge time increasing from light to heavy weapon.
I've found that the charge time does seem to increase with weapon heaviness. And yes, guns do tend to take longer than swords to charge.
I've always wondered was why you slowed down so much when charging a gun compared to when charging a sword, does anyone know??
@jackfaust
It's a nerf thing.
Or we can add in some flavor and say something like; With "great" power comes great turtle like speed.
Charge time is linked to weapon speed as opposed to weapon class.
This is why some bombs charge faster than others, while all being of the same class.
At least from my observations, at least.
It could be entirely possible it's a combination of both of these aspects.
@Shoebox
The charge time been affected by aspd aspect should only be true to bombs, I see no difference with charge time affected by aspd on other weapons.
It's most likely a combination of both, helps make sure the weapons are balanced too.

Is the carver a heavy class weapon?
I'm pretty sure the charge time is related to the type of the weapon.
