If you are going to moderate our posts to save face, please be less obvious about it.

C'mon, it's basic spin-doctoring. You don't lock the negative stuff and say "post it elsewhere," that just draws more attention, especially when the elsewhere is a thread that is titled to be just for the auction house.

If you want to really get rid of the dissent, leave a couple tangentially related positive topics open, change the sticky to be about the update discussion in general, and this is the big one, ALSO remove a lot of the neutral and even positive topics related to the update and direct them to the sticky. That way, it seems like you're a moderation staff who acts to keep people in their directed areas and to prevent topic spam on one subject, rather than one that's overtly removing any way for people to bounce why they dislike the update back and forth.

by redirecting in a thread

by redirecting in a thread with somany posts, you can just lose track of negative comments... they just blend in with all the rest.

ingenious idea if they plan to just ignore problems till people get used to them.

they ask for feedback, yet try to shut down threads when people voice there opinions.
if they actually read the feedback they wouldve realised its a different topic, guess they only read the feedback that agrees with their mistakes.

It makes more sense to have

It makes more sense to have everything in one thread. Four dozen "About the update..." "Who h8s crafting change?" threads is not only redundant, it makes it more difficult to track the feedback. You can still read through everything in one thread, regardless of how many people complain or approve.

I agree... but you didn't read

Feynt, your comment is sensible enough in theory. The problem is this: They are sending threads that are not, at all, about the auction house... to an auction house only thread. And they're only locking negative threads. If they locked all threads and discussion about the update and put them in one thread, that would be reasonable! But they have so far only locked threads that were negative.

@Milski: I think we have

@Milski: I think we have different moderation styles, then, because I'm not interested in spin doctoring or making it seem like, well, anything. I merely believe that when there is an official feedback thread for a release, that's where the feedback goes. I take your point about the thread being the Auction House feedback thread, though, instead of the release thread.

@tryptic: I get that it's displeasing to see a thread locked, but it is simply false that we can "lose track" of feedback that's all posted in one thread. If you have a valid reason for having feedback spread out over multiple threads, with multiple titles, over multiple days, please let me know what it is.

Eurydice, FWIW it's obvious

Eurydice, FWIW it's obvious that you are just trying to organize threads. Why the mouth breathers here can't see that is beyond me. It makes sense to get everything in one place. I'm having trouble keeping up with the rage too.. Not that you need advice, but don't waste your time defending yourself to people about this matter.

There is no official feedback

There is no official feedback thread, Eurydice. Surely you can see that, right?

Even if your intent is for the auction house thread to be the official thread... nobody posting a thread that is negative will know that. At the time of the original post, only two threads were locked, neither about the auction house, yet both were moved to the auction house thread.

I see that the thread has been renamed to be entirely about the update, so it's perfectly reasonable to move threads there, but at the time of posting, the lock+move was unreasonable. I still believe that the threads that are up could use a good pruning, though; there are quite a lot of threads that are irrelevant and only related to the discussion, both bad (complaints) and more positive (telling people to stop complaining, etc).

I get most of the combining

but the petition wasn't for diatribes on the patch, it was an ORGANIZED SOLITARY place where people who wished a specific section of the patch repealed could post and the mods could see how many people disagreed with this change at a cursory lookover. I don't see how forcing that condensation into the wider pool is better.

well the thread they directed

well the thread they directed was about non tradeable 4* and 5* weapons and increase in alchemy costs.

the thread they directed it to is about auction house.

it makes more sense to direct a thread to another thread of same topic, not flood a different topic with unrelated posts.

I really prefer not to prune

I really prefer not to prune individual posts unless they violate the forum guidelines or the Terms of Service. It screws with thread continuity and makes people paranoid that someone is out to squish them, specifically.

Lets All take a deep breath

Relax, everyone needs to calm down listen we all lost items or are upset right now with this game take a deep breath try it out for a week or two or take a break for a week or two from Spiral Knights. Come back see how the economy is and how everything is going. Its not right of us to bash an idea before we even try it out for a week.

@LCBelgarath: I see what

@LCBelgarath: I see what you're saying, and of course you have a right to express your opinion. When we're specifically requesting feedback in a thread, though, it means we're looking there, in *that* thread. If you want to show us how many people agree with you, the thread where we've said we're paying Official Attention is your best bet for meaningful impact.

Great. They make the end game

Great. They make the end game of Spiral Knights nothing BUT grinding, not even making stuff to sell, and then on the forums, they start editing posts to save face.

This is what I need. A blood vessel about to pop out of my god damn skull.

@Magnus: Er, no, just the title was changed, as Milski rightly pointed out that it was misleading to try to consolidate all feedback there if it was only labeled "auction house." Sorry if that threw you.

I can understand that you all

I can understand that you all might be upset about the update, but, c'mon, I am too, and I'm not complaining about the admins redirecting traffic on the forums. They're not out to get you.

When a game is updated the forums are often cluttered with three pages of similar threads saying "this rules," "this sucks," and "guys shut up I'm trying to talk about how awesome cutters are!" Is it really that offending to you to have to post your (perhaps warranted) frustrations in one thread?

@ Eurydice. Now the former

@ Eurydice.

Now the former auction house thread is renamed and unlikely to be closed, i will just post there.
but seeing as before it was renamed, threads unrelated to the single topic 'auction house' were being closed, i figured post in all, and if 1 is left open, my input is in a thread that hasnt been closed.

will just post in the one thread that now has a topic relative to the problems.
