I have an Ash Tail coat with fire res high, I was just wondering what you guys thought I should chose for the 5 star version of the coat.

I got a freeze high UV on my dusker cap but that didn't stop me from getting skolver cap. Forget the UV, while many people will say you are wasting the UV just choose which line you like and go for it. (Skolver and Vog are both great 5* gear so just choose one that seems to appeal to you such as the bonuses they give you and the type of defence)

I'd go snarby
It would look nice with the freeze and posion resist because they are also +3, and it would be great for FSC.

It's ok to mix for starters. But in the long run multiple dedicated full sets would offer better protection for each situation.

That depends on which long run you're talking bout.
A dedicated poison set and a dedicated fire set will do you jack all in C42.

A dedicated fire set will get you through Compound 42 --- just not quite as brainlessly as a dedicated Compound 42 set (Dragon Scale) will.
All are good, because fire is always nice to avoid. But you'll eventually have a variety of armors (if you don't already), and when you're facing a fire threat, you'll equip your fire-resistant armor. Thus it is nice to have a single armor set with as much fire protection as possible. So I vote that you go for Vog Cub with this UV.
By the way, Fang of Vog's charge attack is awesomely powerful, but it'll kill you unless you have lots of fire protection. So that's another reason to go for Vog Cub.
