Request for a quantified crystal heating article/additional section to existing heat articles

With the new heating system implemented, there seems to be a regular pattern for the amount of crystals needed per level per * of a given item. If we could compile some data for this it would be hugely helpful for planning out crafts and the work involved in getting them.

I'm currently heating a 4* and plan to make a few more 5*s. I intend to create a 2-5* item that could gather some data, but solo it'll take me forever to grind the crystals and heat the items. Please post any crystal requirements for leveling, including the * item and the %.

Also, currently typing "crystals" leads to the minerals page...probably a better pathway could be made like "crystals" leads to disambiguation between minerals and heating crystals...idk. I dunno how to do it either.

I fixed the wiki page "Crystals" to redirect to "Crystal", which is already the disambiguation page you wanted. By the way, page titles are usually singular rather than plural.

I haven't heated anything since the update (or 2012, actually), so I can't help much with that part. Good luck.

EDIT: changing format for ease of transition onto wiki. i will input the data when i find a suitable format that isnt all clutter-y.
EDIT: adding data here as a second copy where all of the data can be viewed from one place.
italics are used to denote information not gathered/verified by myself.
EDIT: added "presumed total 100% forges req'd:", in order to provide a guesstimate for the number of crystals needed. since the numbers dont always follow a regular pattern, these numbers are only approximations.

almost done with 3* and doing 4* shortly afterwards. would it be possible to request a new table type in order to insert the data? i have searched all across the wiki and found no tables satisfactory for me to just steal code.

forge boxez @ 3*! dropping the Y annotation.

i have partial lists of 4 and 5, will update whenever that gets done. if i could get some kind of verification on the missing levels that i double leveled over, the wiki addition can be precise.

I made a google docs spreadsheet with this information (and added partial data added for 0*).

Perhaps this will give someone an idea of how to format it for the wiki?

Also, @Nergee, for your 2* data, you have two different probabilities of leveling for level 7. I'm assuming level 7 isn't the same as six (like the other ones), but can you verify this?

And observation: 1* requires more crystals on L1 than either 2* or 3*? Weird.

@jamesh: i recorded data as i went. all of the above data was gathered by myself and only myself (qq). i did find it strange, but thats how things turned out. it kinda makes sense due to the frequency of usage of some items, such as 2*-5* items (ie wolver/brandish lines) vs 1*-3* (icebreaker). fortunately those are easy checks for anyone who wants to verify (and PLZ do!! grinding is painful and i do believe that this might contain mistakes).

Sheesh... the whole thing looks kind of yellow. :)

Please, keep collecting data - I want at least two verifications of every point. I have a couple friends in-game who said they may be willing to help... we'll see if we can get more contributors!

And I can't play too much, but I'll enter data as I get it, or as it's posted on here (please, post below here rather than an edit...)

EDIT: Okay, Weird - 0* (Proto Bomb) - levels 7 and 8 have probabilities of 90/95/100, but Level 9 has 100/100/100....

'nother update.

i finished 5*, and also got a small data contribution from a friend. unfortunately i dont have that much time to play either, the only reason i was able to gain heat quickly was piggy-backing on my friends/guild runs for fsc heat.

the data i've gathered:
5*LVL 7: 30/60/90

a friend gave me this data, not verified:
4*LVL 4-6: 25/75/100

lvl 6: 11/22/33
lvl 7: 20/40/60

Also, i noted that you didn't include the 100% for some of the permutations. If you were lacking crystals, i think it can be inferred that 1st option is always 1/3, 2nd is 2/3 and 3rd is 3/3rds. All of the data I've gathered so far hasn't had a single violation of that pattern.

derped and forgot lvl 1. i was able to verify my friend's lvl 6 11/22/33, however: the data they gave me about 25/75/100 was incorrect for lvl 6 4*, it should've been 30/75/100, which i have changed here.
