Which Ultimates do i choose... Need help weighing the pros and cons of each skill.
Ricocheting quills? or exploding quills that inflict aoe poison?
Haunted haze that spawns vengeful spirits that seeks out enemies if the haze DEALS THE KILLING BLOW? or Haze that deal random status effects when exploding.
I'm also putting the appearance changes these ultimates bring about into account too...

this should be put in new

this should be put in new recruits section, ya know.

anyways, aoe poision seems like the kind of thing youd like to use in a party (to reduce dmg taken) or in places with menders to stop healing, but preferably in tight stops so the explosion has a large effect. the bouncy one is more for crowds than individual enemies methinks.
well, if huge ears or freakish arms dont bother you, lets move on to the hazes.

the first one is useful if youre using your wraith on weakened enemies as a finisher attack, but might not yield results if used too soon. (plus, the mask is as wierd as f**k), and the other one has a cool mask but its a bit unlucky t end up getting the wrong status on certain enemies like oilers, quicksilvers and etc.
in my view, of course.

I've heard that the vengeful spirits can be lackluster. Maybe it really depends on the timing. If you use it to early when there are lots of enemies around, you'll do lots of damage but you won't kill any of them with it. You probably have to trigger it a bit after the combat starts once you've started weakening them (that's probably what the guy that complained about the ability was doing wrong)

Thanks

Thanks guys. Ive chatted with a Beta tester just now... apparently the spirits summoned from the haze arent that strong and the mask really looks wierd... So i think ive made my decision. As for the quills... i think im still on the fence here ^^ but thanks a lot guys ^^ it helped ^^

Yeah I'd probably go with statuses too. (if it were me)
Timing my enemies deaths seems like too much hassle, I'd rather just fire the haze and then continue fighting the now randomly-statused exploding enemies.

Allo!

Just my 2 pence after testing both skills for each skill.

Quills
- Vengeful Quills is super handy, seeing as the majority of the time a lot of the quills will stick into 1 enemy, they bounce into nearby (loose term since the range is pretty large) enemies and spread the poison.

- Virulent Quills sounded great at first but the explosions felt rare and the radius of the explosions wasn't that large. Probably great for soloing but in a group where mobs aren't where you particularly want them to be, I found it harder to hit than quills homing into other enemies from Vengeful Quills.

Cloak (I feel this is the one skill out of the 3 that is down to playstyle more than anything)
- Deadly Shadow Cloak is great if you're planning on using sword combos near an enemy as it gives a damage bonus of high for 2-3 seconds after uncloaking (I use it as a temporary buff to initiate fights and get big damage on them).

- Vengeful Shadow Cloak feels to me the more defensive of the two options, if you're in a spot of bother you can pop the skill, hopefully stun a couple of enemies, run away and begin charging an attack while they're still hazed.

Hex
- Chaotic Haze is probably the better option in my opinion. The random status effects aren't too rare a sight and are always useful and you don't need to keep an eye on enemies' health.

- Haunted Haze is more reliant on timing the deaths of multiple enemies at the same time. Even when you do manage to successfully time it right, the ghosts' explosion isn't all that much damage. (I think they hit for around 150 against skellies in a T3 arena).

I picked - Vengefull Quills / Deadly Shadow Cloak / Chaotic Haze but of course my playstyle might be completely different.
Hope this was somewhat helpful! :)

redundant thread

It doesn't bother me much, but in the interests of consolidating information and effort, let me point out that there was already a thread running on this exact topic:

Vengeful Quills?

Thx @Bopp for pointing out that this was a redundant thread. ^^
Ive read on the other thread that Vengeful Quills reduce the total damage output compared to the initial Caustic Quills,
which makes vengeful quills less effective at single mobs but works thinning out groups of enemies.
