Shield Bump not working?

The only reason I'm not putting this in Bug Reports is because I'm not sure if this is a feature or not. Ever since the last update, shield bumping has stopped working for me (not the shield bash, the shield bump). This has caused a number of unfortunate situations where I can't get out of a horde of enemies. One thing that may have caused this is that I am using a Proto Shield (Shield Bumping apparently depends on your shield health). Is this the case for anyone else? Is this a bug?

I have had no issues with it,

I have had no issues with it, so if it happens again I'd send a bug report. That being said do remember a few things.

- Shield size determines how far away they'll be bumped, but even a Proto Shield should bump them far enough way to prevent a hit.
- If your Shield is broken when you try to bump them it'll do nothing, as it doesn't create the little pulse.
- If you're swarmed by a couple layers of enemies the Shield will bump the closest enemies away, but they'll be stopped by the next layer. Making it seem like they didn't move at all.

Ever since the shield health

Ever since the shield health bar was implemented shield bumping with a Proto Shield has never been possible. I believe it's intentional, not a bug.

Phew

That was a relief. I'd better work towards crafting a 2* shield then.

Shield bumping is based on shield size? So, if I alchemize my 4* Mighty Defender into a Heater Shield, it technically gets smaller so its bump will not be as powerful is that what you meant or is it not that technical or is it that perhaps it actually is just based on the alchemy line but not strictly the size e.g. plate shield line is bigger while defender line is generally smaller ergo the smaller shield bumps which I've also never read into.

They meant the size of their

They meant the size of their shield's health bar, not the literal size of the shield. More health=more bump.

Pretty sure it is based on STAR level, not health.

A 4* Stone Tortoise can push things further than 5* Ancient Plate Shield? Whoa, that's just silly now.

EDIT: Omega Shell is the 5* variant, my bad.

Qwao is correct. Shield bump power is dependant on the shield's star rating.

Does a 4* Omega Shield have a

Does a 4* Omega Shield have a larger power meter than a 5* Ancient Plate Shield?
Don't all 5* shields have the same power meter size?
Isn't a shield's power meter size dependent on the shield's star rating?

I could be wrong, but I have no way of checking unless I were to get another 5* shield.

EDIT: Correct terminology is Shield Power Meter, not Shield Health Bar.

I don't have a shell, but for your information Stone Tortoise and Omega Shell have more health than all the other shields. Go look at the stats in Hall of Heroes.

I do think your point of a "Power Meter" instead of a "Shield Health Bar" helps clarify things, but isn't the power meter supposed to represent the health of the shield?

Meh, I bet they weren't thinking of the Omega Shell/Stone Tortoise when they implemented it.

That or they can't be bothered clarifying stuff.
