The following perks are at the following star levels:

Sword Attack Speed Increased Medium: 5*

Damage Versus Fiends High: 4*;

Shock/Fire/Poison/Freeze Resistance High: 4*

Normal/Piercing/Shadow/Elemental Resistance high: 5*

So lets compare 2 armor sets with this newfound knowledge: Vog and Valkyrie

Valkyrie has:
-The same shadow as vog has elemental
-About a high less normal than vog has
-The same amount of resistances collectively. (2 maxes to vog's 1 max, but negative fire)
-Fiend: Med rather than Sword Speed Med

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't sword speed a 5* bonus, while Fiend: med isn't even a 4* buff? What up with that?

Considering the poison and fire 'cancel each other', Valkyrie is just bad. Less normal for..... nothing?
It needs more defense and something low.

The benefit that damage bonuses vs a certain monster family give is that it's a universal damage buff. Angelic and Chroma lines are more useful in general on hybrids who don't/can't use Chaos set, in certain levels...

There is a reason why Zebulon is the specialist...

Alright then Traevelliath, why is a +3 monster bonus considered 4* while a +2 weapon bonus is considered 5*?

I'm not just saying that these are bad buffs, OOOs seems to consider and acknowledge them as bad buffs.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Normal defense is generally greater.

Well this should mean some rebalances of armor are queued up. But since they didn't say anything about a rebalance update, probably nothing is going to be done about it and will hope that we forget about it.

@Fehzor Because that would make sense, and why live in a world that makes sense?

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that either a) the Family bonuses isn't as useful as, more often than not, the player fights multiple families, and it's somewhat better to have a weapon bonus that does extra damage vs everything, or B) you only get perks at certain star levels; four star perks for a four star sprite, and it's more to do with tier than actual star level.
