Title says it all? do they have a religion? maybe they worship the trojan god? or maybe The Vog Gods? Thoughts?
Do The Spiral Knights Have A Religion?
They're fighting actual fiends from the underworld and wear actual angelic armour from celestial being. I don't know if it's so much religion at that point as scientifically proven facts.
I'd like to believe they have a religion like the greeks
I think that the GM's act like some kind of gods for the knights. This explains why do they have their names and their powers.
i dont think gms would label themselves as gods? .....well it sure would be nice if a GM would confirm this (hint hint)
So... the Spiral Knights are scientologists?
how the balls do you get scientology from science they have nothing to do with each other, they're diametrically opposed in fact
also I think religion is no concern to the knights. It's an individualistic matter
Spiralism.
Earn the Spiral Order's respect and make it to the core if you wish to go to Heaven. If you get so many complaints then you will spend the rest of eternity in Hell with Vanaduke.
Isn't Vanaduke in purgatory seeing as he hasn't been judged yet? He kinda took the judge and turned her into his mace.
Well, there are some forces one may be consider divine, like Vog or Spirit Mother.
At some point, there must have been some sort of organised religion as well - Gunslinger Priests are mentioned at one point, and existence of priests imply existence of religion.
Plus, I think I've heard about Church of Momoni :-)
Why is it an Abrahamic view? I personally think that it is like a Greek Pantheon (Look At The Storm Costume Armour Descriptions) they could have worshipped storm gods?
Not related to the OP's question, but does my Knight's lunar faith count as religion?
maybe they did have a religion but maybe after their civil war on there home world (if it was civil war I don't know) they might have forgotten and focused on trying to defend them selves and find a new home for them selves
Guys give you're thoughts on this? what does YOU'RE knight believe in? what do you think is their religion
The knights are like the covenant, and we believe the core is good but opening it will exterminate all life in the universe? :o
lmao , the knights came from their homeworld Isorra , they recently came to cradle , i don't think a religion just formed.
Maulos is the one true deity to follow; he will bring judgement day to the surface, so if you're not a follower of him, then prepare for your fate.
@ Storm mail comments
Storm mail and valkyrie armor implies that they acknowledge the existence of higher beings, not that they necessarily worship them. It's possible to belive in a god without being religious in any way. (At least, if I'm using the word religious properly)
Personally my knight believes in gods, but he doesn't worship them because he's an uncouth maverick that don't need no anything. *insert more archetype jokes here*
@Orangeo i get what you're saying but that would just use you're interpretation of the meaning of the word god? Maybe the knights believe in an old almirian religion? maybe they have a cult?! Give you're thoughts!
Great question, there's so much that can be added to the lore of this game but sadly three rings doesn't focus a lot on it. I mean, what's the name of their home planet? I don't remember it being me mentioned anywhere..
in 1 of the 1st missions kora talks about being on haven and she says "It's not Isorra but it's home."
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!!
Im sure that it's viable for some of the Knights to have created Cults that worship whatever is inside the Core.
Seeing it as some Omnipotent force that power the planet they stand on.
There could be multiple religions.
E.g. there's a religion with a belief (although it's more of an understatement of a fact) that the Forge is a very, very bad thing.
I worship papayas and tha- *Gets shot by Kozma*
In a world full of deities? can there be a religion? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
