I can't see my crowns as I go through the clockworks. Why can't the devs dedicate a very small section of the UI to display crowns? I want to know how much money I have as I'm killing monsters, and how much money I earn per level. I don't want to always go to the trouble of clicking an arsenal button for it to show up.
The only thing that I currently detest about this game...

First off, have you tried pressing 'I', which is mapped to Arsenal by default?
You may or may not know this, but they used to show the crown indicator, but they removed it for various reasons. See the big UI update discussion thread.

To answer the question of why they did this, I had to look around, so I looked at some screenshots, and noticed that sometimes people would black out their CE/CR counter, so OOO did us a bit of a favor and cut out some of the work for people who cared if people saw how rich/poor they were.
